you need to look closer to what im saying, right now, it works absolutlly fine, mods, everything. even multiplayer.

yep, you do it the same way you would on a pc, im sure there is videos on how to do it, but the basic's is that, when you download a mod file, you put it in the addon section of your garrys mod file. that is located deep in finder. /user/(your user name)/library/application support/ crossover/bottles/ (the bottle you use)/c_drive/program files/steam/steamapps/(steam user name)/garrysmod/garrysmod.

and there you are. if there are files in the mod folder like, lua or modles, open those up and put the contents in the corrosponding folders in your gmod folder

Another thing

I think you can only play games from steam that were developed by Valve. The reason for this is that the macbook (unless its the alluminum one) has a below average graphics card, so it cant run direct x 9

Fortunately, you can set your launch options in steam, so when you go to open gmod or anything, make sure -dxlevel 7

Also, unfortunately you have to pay for it.

I will gladly help because i hated this problem.

I found the problem with downloading things off steam is this, lemme guess, either the link is unresponsive, or it cant find steam on your system? Basically what you want to do is download Firefox FOR PC! From there open it up through crossover and go to steam. Connect to your acound, and download things like would normally. I would suggest testing it by downloading a demmo or something. If you have any problems just ask!

yeah i have the same problem skateman i know you found out how now but... how do you download garrys mod off onto steam. i have a mac too and im using crossover. how can i download it? internet explorer for windows wont respond too.... PLEASE REPLY I WANT TO PLAY STEAM GAMES

i finaly solved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i basically just torrented the full crossover, got steam, bought counterstrike source, (with gmod) and intalled it. i had to change the opening line to -dxlevel 7

to do this, go to properties, launch settings, and opening launch line. now it runs peachy keen. adding adons was kina touph but i got it. basically, if its a map, open the file, get to the file type that starts with a b. i forget the whol thing, but drag that into the maps folder.

ok go to a gameing shop in america (im from england) and ask for counter strike and it comes with gmod or day of defeat then crossover will just install it when u put the disc in

so all i have to do, is get counterstrike source, because i got it befor off pirate bay, but it didnt come with hl2dm or gmod. do i need to get it from a store?
