  • I think he should flap with his ear a bit too, and perhaps have a party hat on.

And at the end he should shoot a nose booger to the camera.

    That would be awesome.

  • Actually our one and only President herein the South President Jefferson Davis 1st Innaugural address was a much better speech than this. It actually has passion and emotion in it. This one doesnt.

  • Lincoln on Slavery:

I have no purpose, directly or indirectly to interfere with the institution of slavery. --- March 14, 1861

What I would most desire would be the separation of the white and black races. --- 7-17-1858, fr. a speech delivered in Springfield, Ill.

I am not in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, or of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people. --- September 15, 1858

  • he was a man of his times after all. he did want to end slavery later on. but, he wanted to send blacks back to africa. i mean, you can be against slavery, and not be for racial equality. and to further upset you, i am southern born and bred and i think the civil war ended the way it needed to. neither the csa or the north could have stood alone.

  • @tranurse I LIKE YOUR HONEST EVALUATION - A RARE THING THESE DAY. IT'S RARE TO SEE SUCH AN ACCURATE CALL.

  • thanks. i'm a history geek. i just hate when people try to make things black and white. that's all. are you from nola? my grandfather was born on st.charles street in 1917. he lived in covington though.

  • Yes - I live in New Orleans until I was eleven then moved to Maine and then New York. I came back to New Orleans after college and have been living on the North Shore for the past few years.

  • I didn't know Lincoln sounded like C3P0 from Star Wars.
