actually, before emily died. she was the quartermaine that was closest to him. she was his sister and he was her brother and they acknowledged that. he still remained disconnected to the quartermaines. it was only after alan died, when jason saw him on the hospital bed that he said out loud that he was alan's son. 10 years to get the words out and alan wasn't alive to hear it.
