hey man i got the same gun do you know what it averages with the primer hollow point and also witch would you recommend for hunting the pointed or the hollow points
Small pests are mice, large pests are crows or rats...A popcan could be a target, but these guns are really nice for the money especially when they are tuned they can be very smooth guns.
@gobles24 dont listen to people that say they arent hunting guns!! i will post some vids soon i REGULARLY get squirrells and rabbits where i live in Ontario and i use a phantom 500x with a 9x32 scope. it will go thru the skull of a racooon if you can hit it. dont underestimate the power of 495fps........ also a few drops of lube into you pellet tin with a good shake down can really help velocity of the shots. i ALways lube my pellets when i buy em.
How were the hollow points? I didn't see you use them in this video... unless I missed it? Anyways, if you know the big differences between hollow points and pointed pellets (ex: velocity), I would appreciate it, thanks.
they put that much on because mine came with the plastic melted to the gun because of the hot storage room, and the lube/oil keeps the plastic from sticking.
hey, When you used the Crosman pointed pellets, did you use the .22 14.3 grns, or the .177 version. I am asking cause 14.3 grns at around 501fps is 8FPE!!!
hey bro, i am planning on buying one of these from canadian tire and i would like to up the velocity on the gun as much as posible. if you could possibly make a vid or send me a message or just reply to this comment i would really like to know what canadian tire does to reduce the velocity on the gun so i can fix mine. thanks
LOL Gamo big cat/whisper are not the top of anything......they are both entry level guns, Air Arms S410, Theoben Rapid, HW 100, Daystate air rianger........those are some of the top rifles, starting at $1000, no scope........
not long, i just took apart the gun, and removed all of the stock oil and grease. Then I put in some beeman moly and Crosman silicone chamber lube. I also sanded down all internal edges, honed the inside of the compression chamber, put in a new seal, new trigger, new piston LOL totally different gun now.....
but just to fix the dieseling it takes maybe 30 minutes to an hour, and you need the right lubes too
Thanks, yeah RWS are usually a very solid pellet for accuracy and velocity. My personal favorites are the JSB predator polymags, great punch and penetration. Cheers

@aussem9
Yes they were 14.3 grains, its only went over 500fps for a few shots as there was far too much lubricant put into the gun at the factory.....
But yes, they are quite powerful guns, one of the most powerful you can have without a PAL........
thanks,
