We make that same trip from the Tonopah Nevada side all the time. Only been twice on my Majesty though..... about 500 miles for us also.... its one of our Saturday lunch runs, we come in through Bridgeport and do the pass to Strawberry, than back through the pass to Walker for lunch and then back to Tonopah.
