Good, but you had to many regions included in your monologue. There was some Ulster, definite county Monaghan / Fermangh. The word "details" needs a little work and "Pisses me off" and "I Hate people" more stress needed on the a, not ay. Hope this helps. Best of luck in your career.
not bad, you got to use diff words tho, like jaysus, grand, eijit, lovely, masive, instead of fuck is more like fooock, went mental, lovely, shite, instead of gay they say queer, Had an Irish gfriend and lived in ireland as well, jaaaaaysusss!!, watch the movie Intermission , angela ashes, butcher boy, the general, agnes brown and loads of irish good films!, slainte , baile ath cliath.
Like your Youtube name, Gangs of New York is one of my favorites. PS, Before folks decided to bark at me, I know The Dead rabbit's were an actual Irish gang and not just for the movie. :3
hahaha ya sound like a fkn pikey...if ya wanna do a proper accent you need to learn a dublin 1 mate........watch "INTERMISSION" fkn great film n tbh thats what us dubs talk like n as much as i hate to say it...act like it mostly lol......
Did a leprechaun teach u that, u need a lot of work dude, our accent has changed in the last few decades. try get a video of sum1 from the midlands talking and it will make it much easier and more authentic sounding, you'd swear everyones either from cork, the north, dublin r the goddamn 60's. try drop h's that cum after t's and u will improve i swear.
You've made the classic mistake of presuming all Irish talk like country-folk. Most people live in the cities, and so have more understandable accents. I'd suggest clarifying for yourself the vowel sounds of each dialect, Also try to use specific colloquisms, and not just country-wide sayings. Also, you wouldn't find an irish person saying asshole, we'd say eejit. And you kinda went a bit Scottish in the middle. Also we speak way faster than that. Good attempt though.
you should try talking a bit fasted and when people look confused then u have the accent down to a tee. ps best irish accent i have heard from an american they usually sound like the little folk if ur with me
iam from tipperary very funny try some bits good some not so first thing if a car hits u from behind thats called a slap in the arse and u dont ask for insurance details u say is there anything on that. that as being the car. ha ha ha. up tipp
its like your trying to do a culchie accent but theres just a bit of north side dublin comin through...im a culchie from the midlands of ireland and youv made a good effort...keep it up and itl be perfect :)

Your Irish "accent" sounds like you're an absolute pikey mate. I'm from the heart of the midlands of Ireland and if I heard a voice like that, I'd expect a traveller. You're not Irish and never will be. So laaaave it so pal :)
@championsofeurope21 not at all im trying to learn it for acting purposes im an american and not trying to pass as and irishman in life but for scene work.
@championsofeurope21 No, it's not you fuck nut. Just because I put on an Australian accent doesn't mean I'm actually trying to be Australian. It can just be for fun
every single person from outside Ireland who does an Irish Accent does a country accent or northern accent. TRY the DUBLIN accent, it's much easier to do! (from Dublin)
my ears man, nah nah nah, listen, read the comments u r sounding like a traveller, not a good thing when ur in ireland, take it easy, and work a bit more on it cuz u can tell its not ready yet man, so work on it more still and gud luck
its the very american sterotypical irish accent. Its kinda all over the place. Listen to some actual irish people talking not americans trying to do the accent because they can't do it. The phrases and cursing were spot on though. Try to stick in a 'Well fair play to ya' next time.
sup im from wexford in south ireland and your irish accent has abit of a northern irish twang to it !! watch some tommy tiernan videos and learn from him hes a comedian from cork !! thats a real irish accent !!
Not bad, but your using accents from all over ireland- like i can hear a bit of dublin, cork, monaghan, galway etc... we don't all sound the same! Just focus on one area of the country and you'll be sound
use a deeper voice.. listen to some real irish people vlogging.. dont ever talk to an irish person face to face in that accent, we get really offended.. also dont tell us your part irish, theres no such thing, and it is annoying
@IANOBOYLE1 "We get really offended"? Ack, fer God sake lad, dry up. The good thing about the Irish is that we can laugh at ourselves and have a bitta craic! If you want to be overly emotional and easily offended, don't group all Irish people as being the same.
@keysmccarthy Bloody hell mate i was offended by this accent and im a turk living in england , but i guess your right he gave it an honest effort, even if he did make the irish sound like a traveler and believe me although it may sound a tiny bit similar on no gods earth is it the same as an irish accent.
Uh first comment upthere about him being fat...your an asshole and saying that doesn't make you a better person it makes people like me want to pull that hot stick out of your ass. Anyways...your pretty good! I'm Irish myself and all I got to say was that you might want to make it more of your own sounding voice, like you went a bit deeper and sounded older. Try doin' your own voice but your words and the way you say fuck are great!
im irish and that wasnt to bad just you lost it a bit at some parts but thats most likley because it was off the top of your head haha keep it up and fuck the haters.
he sounds a traveller/leprechaun! my advice to you is to stop listening to American/English actors trying to do an Irish accent and listen to an actual Irish person. I think the reason people find the accent so difficult to do is because there's so many different dialects that they try and merge them all into one
@sasik3 Say the guy with fucking giant rats in his country ? Man, it's not because you can't get a girlfriend that you need to make fun of other people physic. It could be worst ... He could be an Aussi' ...
You do sound like a traveller and a Cork man more so than anyone else. You should try and listen to a few Irish people with a few different dialects such as myself (to get the Dromiskin/Dundalk accent) and to get one or two different solid accents such as a Dublin or Galway accents.
Not bad mate but your changing Dialects, You are actually doing about 3 accents A Dublin, A Northern Irish and Perhaps a cork one, If you could separate these and master two of the 3 you will be doing fine. I would suggest only taking your inspiration from one source. Hope this Helps.
A bit of constructive criticism, first, don't pause too much, 2nd..we/they don't talk like that much anymore. They do have the accents, but you were using some words they wouldn't use...they speak pretty much like us. "Hello, did you see the news on TV?" They would pretty much say it like us...but with a accent.
One of the better Irish accents I've heard on you tube :) if your looking to expand beyond knacker or traveller-yours is along those lines at the minute... try looking, listening to rte(the national tv station) stuff like storylands on here or some of the radioshows....i102 104 would be a west of ireland youth to thirties focused one and they are both available online...
It was a good traveller accent if that was what you were going at. I hate swearing but when you said Sh*t you should make it sound like ite so it is Sh*te. Also don't pronounce THs for example the is pronounced de. Stress the Ls so Film is fill-im and milk is mil-k, but sing the words. your too forceful when you speak you need to sing the words. Let them lilt off the tongue. You spat them. you also need to refer to a person as your man, and a woman is your one.
thumbs up that was grand. tips if you still need them i heard you saying 'do ya know what a mean' we do use that alot but another one we use is yoda-ish we say things after we say em
e.g. I went to the shop today (so i did) and i ran into none other than paddy the farmer (t'be sure) things like that if you just pretend that irish ppl are like ME btw before irish ppl think im insulting them. that we all talk a bit like yoda but with a musical up tempo voice. you wont be for wrong (sure you wont.)
Not bad dude. A lot better than I was expecting. Keep it up and you'll nail it eventually. I'd advise you to try and stay away from the way irish terrorists/travellers/old drunks talk in movies. They always lay it on a bit thick for Hollywood. What i mean is look at Father Ted (great example of the range of accents) rather than say, The Departed or Snatch. Your best bet is just look up videos posted by Irish people on youtube and just decide on the kind of accent you want to do. keep it up!
Clearly all the hate comments are Irish people , jeez he said constructive critisicm not fucking shit...... It wasnt great u did sound like a traveller, ur trying too hard aswell
The part of your irish accent that relates most to our accent is you spoke fast, sounds alot like a traveller too but for an American, i think you got it as good as you would be able to get it.
sorry to tll you put you sound like a pavee (traveler) these people are a minority and are very misuterstood ireland has 32 counties each with accents of their own and even more for there towns also the streo typical accent is a gallway one learn them all
Um, right I know you're not trying to offend or anything and you're genuinely trying but if you ever do come to Ireland, please don't try this. You'll probably get beaten to within an inch of your life. You have about 10 different county accents rolled into one and you need to tone it down like 200%.
I have to agree with the people below, you're better off picking a county and messing around with it. You would be surprised for such a small country we have many accents xD But other then that, good attempt!
Not a bad attempt, but like what "icandodgebullets86 " said, you need to pick a particular county to decided on what accent you want to actually do.... you had a "general" country accent, but then it went traveller and you also how you were telling the story didnt make much sense as you were using american terms, but good attempt all round .... maybe do a search for an irish tv show called Glenroe ... that might help things a little and get you on the right track
In fairness it is not great. Anyone from Ireland would say..............Negative ie what part of ireland are you from? Where are you trying to be from in Ireland? Basically in Ireland you have to be from a particular area in order to be able to have an accent. ie Cork is different to Dublin and Dublin different to Galway and Sligo different to Leitrim. If you want a good Irish accent watch Boardwalk empire season 2,The northern irish guy in that is perfect as he is trying to be northern irish
you swere too much

Your best bet is just look up videos posted by Irish people on youtube and just decide on the kind of accent you want to do. keep it up!

kerak113 1 month ago
The part of your irish accent that relates most to our accent is you spoke fast, sounds alot like a traveller too but for an American, i think you got it as good as you would be able to get it.

sorry to tll you put you sound like a pavee (traveler) these people are a minority and are very misuterstood ireland has 32 counties each with accents of their own and even more for there towns also the streo typical accent is a gallway one learn them all
proto360ster 1 month ago
Um, right I know you're not trying to offend or anything and you're genuinely trying but if you ever do come to Ireland, please don't try this. You'll probably get beaten to within an inch of your life. You have about 10 different county accents rolled into one and you need to tone it down like 200%.
Just some friendly advice.

just say "do you know what i mean like " after EVERYTHING !

I have to agree with the people below, you're better off picking a county and messing around with it. You would be surprised for such a small country we have many accents xD But other then that, good attempt!

@ciarasaoirse try the SWORDS accent
dingobaby959 1 month ago
Not a bad attempt, but like what "icandodgebullets86 " said, you need to pick a particular county to decided on what accent you want to actually do.... you had a "general" country accent, but then it went traveller and you also how you were telling the story didnt make much sense as you were using american terms, but good attempt all round .... maybe do a search for an irish tv show called Glenroe ... that might help things a little and get you on the right track
baz909 1 month ago
In fairness it is not great. Anyone from Ireland would say..............Negative ie what part of ireland are you from? Where are you trying to be from in Ireland? Basically in Ireland you have to be from a particular area in order to be able to have an accent. ie Cork is different to Dublin and Dublin different to Galway and Sligo different to Leitrim. If you want a good Irish accent watch Boardwalk empire season 2,The northern irish guy in that is perfect as he is trying to be northern irish
