Addiction tears families apart. The best, and hardest thing to do is to cut the addict off completely until they are absolutely willing to surrender. Then, send them to NA and nothing more. I've been on heroin 15 years also, been clean for 6. been on methadone too, which to me was only a Band Aid...I had to change my way of thinking and say fuck my feelings.."FEELINGS" is why i got high in the first place. I had to learn to be comfortable in my own skin. Life's gonna show up no matter what. Drugs didn't solve my life issues. Do the methadone if you have to ! but rituals have to be broken also. It's easy to be insensitive when you've never been there. Most people will only have opinions and sarcasm to offer. From EXPERIENCE, I can tell you that we addicts DO get clean. Recovery IS possible. Narcotics Anonymous DOES work and there are millions who can attest to this FACT! If you're addicted and reading this, please find a local meeting. Reach out, and do what they tell you. Families are not equipped with the tools necessary to help an addict recover. Families either act on feeling or fail to act on the same; most have been abused and used so much by the addicted person that they could care less about whether the addict gets clean or not. To all seeking help with opiates: You need to look into treatment with a drug called Ibogaine. Ibogaine is an addiction interruptor, not a maintenance drug like methadone or suboxone. I found Henry Rollins way of overcoming his addiction a powerful tale. From what I understand he picked up exercise, in order to increase his natural opiods and kicked the horse because of it. Methadone saved my life, im not saying methadone is for everyone but i had to do it, i was too hooked mentaly and methadone helps me say NO to the shit....havent seen a needle go in my arm for a year now. ppl say methadone is just legale heroin but thats not true, methadone doesnt get you high, now i look back and think "what the hell was i doing", i nealy fukn died more than once but i was too stoned to give a shit.

I Have been told by my cousin that he saved my life once i'd taken loads of Valium and Heroin after being clean for 2 weeks i OD and stopped breathing and went blue all i can remember is my cousin slapping my face shouting like fuck to wake up. He Said he did mouth to mouth and i coughed up and started breathing again i don't know how lucky i am to have had him near me or i would be dead.

Addiction tears families apart. The best, and hardest thing to do is to cut the addict off completely until they are absolutely willing to surrender. Then, send them to NA and nothing more. I've been on heroin 15 years also, been clean for 6. been on methadone too, which to me was only a Band Aid...I had to change my way of thinking and say fuck my feelings.."FEELINGS" is why i got high in the first place. I had to learn to be comfortable in my own skin. Life's gonna show up no matter what. Drugs didn't solve my life issues. Do the methadone if you have to ! but rituals have to be broken also. Methadone wasn't free, i've given drug dealers enough of my money. God bless you ..

I was a heroin addict for 4 years, its hard shit. I thought the only way out of addiction was death, but thats not true. Stay strong, some people look down on you when they see the track marks or hear your story.. But they dont know about the blood, sweat, and tears that you put into getting clean. Ive been clean for 2 years now.. It can happen.. Stay strong.

@holdfast1916 i'm at the begining of my journey bin on subutex since friday. It's not holding me and i feel like shit. but i'm trying to man up and face it . this is my 3rd time trying to get clean, it seems to get much harder each time. Hearing storys like yours and sitting in teh rooms seem to help a bit. @bongobil i jumped ogff 80ml methadone oh my god never again im shit scared to go through what id id then (i did use for 3 weeks hoping it would mainly come out of my system,,took 3 weeksto get sleep,id just flake out from exhaustion for ike a hour sweating shivering vominting ect ect, it was a living hell,,im scared to get off,and all these years im sure your body gets used to it and depletes it in a way so u need to have atleast good health or your body takes a big toll.

What a good video... Very sad, but all to true. All I can say is I understand what your going through. It sounds like you have totally givin up on your life, or you live to get high, and that's it. It's easy to be insensitive when you've never been there. Most people will only have opinions and sarcasm to offer. From EXPERIENCE, I can tell you that we addicts DO get clean. Recovery IS possible. Narcotics Anonymous DOES work and there are millions who can attest to this FACT! If you're addicted and reading this, please find a local meeting. Reach out, and do what they tell you. @689321546 I would suggest leaving "helping" to the hands of professionals in the field and to other persons in recovery who have themselves overcome addiction (I happen to be both). Families are not equipped with the tools necessary to help an addict recover. Families either act on feeling or fail to act on the same; most have been abused and used so much by the addicted person that they could care less about whether the addict gets clean or not. To all seeking help with opiates: You need to look into treatment with a drug called Ibogaine. Ibogaine is an addiction interruptor, not a maintenance drug like methadone or suboxone. Ibogaine will stop your withdrawal,elevate your mood, and stop cravings. I have Ibogaine videos faved on my chanel. It is not legal in the U.S., but there are clinics in Mexico. Two I know of are 1. You dont have to be a junky. you can be a recovering drug addict. actually I dont have the answers. this video was powerful, but it just goes to show who made this video does have true heart. I found Henry Rollins way of overcoming his addiction a powerful tale. From what I understand he picked up exercise, in order to increase his natural opiods and kicked the horse because of it. Your life isnt lost, you just have to choose another life, you dont always have to be happy but you can be content

Yea the high is good but then comes the lowest low that perpetuates until you've wasted away because the grip it takes on your soul after merely a few days is one that just fucking refuses to EVER let go. And you may want to stop, but it's withdrawal agony that keeps you on it for so long. Not to mention that there are ignorant pricks that think they're better than everyone or that they have a right to judge, and bc of this, people don't get help out of shame. It's a sad thing. Methadone saved my life, im not saying methadone is for everyone but i had to do it, i was too hooked mentaly and methadone helps me say NO to the shit....havent seen a needle go in my arm for a year now. ppl say methadone is just legale heroin but thats not true, methadone doesnt get you high, now i look back and think "what the hell was i doing", i nealy fukn died more than once but i was too stoned to give a shit.
