I love Howl-O-Scream ! It's original ! Parks like Halloween Horror Nights Take there ideas from movies and such. Although HOS does reuse there houses they always manage to keep you frightened and entertained. I would prefer HOS over HHN Any day !

@itachi715 This isn't a rip off of HHN. HHN bases all of their houses off movies and does new ones every year. Their sets and costumes are beautiful but they lack in scares. For someone who has worked at HOS for five years, I can confidently tell you the difference. HOS may reuse some of their houses and scare zones but only those that work well enough to be brought back. Those that don't work so well are tossed out. Though I will say this past year of HHN was better than previous years of HHN

i know how to compare the two better now, HHN is scarier as far as details, and gore. HoS is scarer as far as startleing, they have more areas that your like "oh, i didn't think that was a person". and over all i'd say that HHN is built in a way that it feels like your stepping into a movie, where as HoS is more like your stepping into a painting. Both of the events are great in their own ways, but i stand by my opinion that HHN is my favorite.

If you want a good house experience at HOS then you should try to get to the houses you really want to see as early on as you can manage, because the actors give it all they have and tend to wear themselves out as the night goes on.

@yuppityyups I live in Pennsylvania too, we have this local haunted woods thing made by some actors in Philadelphia (near where I live) and they have crazy butcher people in a house, chainsaws, and other scary stuff, then they chase you with the chainsaws outside of the maze/woods and right after you go on a haunted hay ride. It's called Terror Hollow. You wouldn't believe how many people run out of the entrance cause it's so scary.
