It's not the quality of the picture, its the limits on the VGA connection.

@holysoks1 well for me i was running 1680x1050 on VGA and it was unbelievably blurry... when i switched to DVI (same computer) it looked at least 10 times sharper (maybe its my bad eyes or my screen i dont know but thats how it was for me and i was told that it had to do with vga having trouble with high res) (and yes i talk too much XD )

I meant 1920x1200 or 'tevs it is.

It might have been your VGA connection was dodgy or your screen didn't like it, or a number of things such as power supply problems to the VGA connection or as simple as the connection port not properly plugged in.

VGA isn't really that different in video output, it's just the connection that the card makes with the computer isn't as uh, powerful(?) as a PCI-E card.

it's funny since it wasn't that long ago, yet at the time this was made they talk like those cards are too much and amazing. now a days cards like that are common, as well as better evolutions of those cards being here and now they're saying they're common and whatnot :) how technology advances so quick in so short a time

which leads to even more problems... at least cpus are shrinking and the amount of heat they generate isn't as bad as the pentium 4 days. liquid cooling on computers has proven to be a pretty big flop. it's useless unless you're overclocking to ridiculous levels. In that situation you'd probably have a pump and noisy fans blowing over the radiator anyway. plenty over people would prefer silent over really really quiet.

getting rid of most of the fans in a computer is a good idea. notice how as time goes on, each component gets bigger and louder fans... CPUs and power supplies didn't even have fans in the early 80s

Dunno about unusual. Custom designed/third party coolers are becoming very common on graphics cards today. The stock coolers are usually noisy and of mediocre effiency, so I prefer custom coolers.
