  • that looks INTENSE

  • so glad they took it out but they do need to perfect it and put it on the next one they build.

  • That would've been epic!

  • a heart line roll at 70mph..... ill pass

  • this isnt a ride you ride more than 2 times trust me

  • Stupid design by the responsible engineers. Simple maths should have told them that it was a bad idea LONG before it got into manufacturing. Also, those Intamin OTSR such royally. Look at the difference between TTD and Kingda Ka - one is actually nice to be on...

  • @binraider666 it was a marketing maneuveur, just to be polemical

  • Stupid design by the responsible engineers. Simple maths should have told them that it was a bad idea LONG before it got into manufacturing.

  • there was room to spread it out so it wouldn't whip around so fast .... idk why they didnt just do that ... and they should have made it more like the heartlines on phonix (intamins 8 inversion coaster)

  • that would snap your neck off lol

  • This ride is the best in the park hands down..its a cruiser and its butter smooth..fast..and so many obsticals

  • looks so sick!

  • Y did they take out the heartline role? I rode it yesterday and there wasnt ome :/

  • @MrAllSubject

There was too much stress on the train, track, and supports.

  • I'm disappointed that they didn't just redesign it.

  • @Xcelerometer lol why don't you. That would be pretty awesome though

  • @AllegroCrab I have. I've designed a roll that has a slightly higher center and a lower roll speed, and it's completely safe. It CAN be done, they just took an easy (and cheaper) route.

  • i rode the maverick before, it goes so fast you don't even remember it.

  • @gamer1270 It is insanely fast! but trust me, I remember it. That first drop is the most terrifying one. Yes, yes, everyone says that title belongs to "Millennium Force", but there is NOTHING like descending a 95 degree angle. I swear, I went STRAIGHT DOWN. And getting launched in that tunnel? it was insanely scary. This roller coaster was just perfect! 95 degree angle drop, airtime hills, sharp turns, inversions, water splashing at you, being launched 70mph in a tunnel. It has it all!

  • @face2faceish1 i rode it today, didn't really look and see the first hill (if you can even see it from the side) and was in the middle because there were enough spots in there for all four of us....we go up, soon as that drop starts a very quick "holy fuck" came out of my mouth, then i laughed about it the rest of the way as i was having my socks knocked off, best ride in my opinion

  • How did Intamin miss in their computer models that you pull 8G's during that roll....Fail guys.

  • thing is its not really a "heartline roll" cos that means the pivot point is the torso of the rider, not the wheels of the car but is looks to me like the seats get whipped around proper fast and the car rotates around the track so its not surprising the had to remove it. I cant imagine the same problem happening if the rider was the centre point.

  • THEY TOOK IT OUT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?

  • @Jordan102197

The G-Forces induced by the roll was too high, they had to remove. It'd cause you to come off the ride with a strained neck, the G forces were that bad during testing.

  • @Bendyournoodle The roll or the whole ride??

  • @Jordan102197

Um, read my comment again. I said the roll, they removed it due to high gforces.

  • @Jordan102197 Just the roll.

  • Why'd they take it out? Too much stress?

  • They didn't take it out because of the G forces, it was because it was putting too much strain on the track and coaster.

  • RIP

  • thats just a shame that they had to take that part out. cause it looks so awesome

  • I can feel my head exploding with the G's right about now...

  • thaaaatt shittt looksss fucking funn!!!!! gay they took it out

  • the heartline was placed too low on that roll, look how far the riders heads swing down compared to a proper heartline roll, they could have replaced it with a properly heartlined roll or something that looks like a low corckscrew but they replaced it with something more fail safe (an s-bend in this case)

  • if they extended that it wud be insane

  • man,I would've LOVED that!Now they just have highly banked s-bends...

  • did anyone ride it when it had the heartline turn or was it removed when it opened?

  • @LoboFan1000

It was removed before it opened. Put too much stress on the trains and the high G-Forces could've caused discomfort on the riders.

  • @DarkJak2050 thanks for the response. glad know one had to experiance that much pain

  • Thumbs up for the ppl that have done that

  • @074Jesse > No one got to experience it...this element was removed from the ride before it was opened to the public.

  • yd they take tht out????

  • @81vidusran Try watching how fast it tears through it!

  • Omg a heart line roll shouldnt cause stress to riders, because it doesnt matter how fast you go, you wont feel any g forces.

  • @kansterstrak Actually, you will. there will still be some slight negatives, and you forgot about rotational laterals. I got my hands on one of the graphs, and I believe the laterals were well above 1.6 or 1.7 ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @kansterstrak You would because you aren't fully centered on the heartline roll because the heartline would be between the two seats (Maverick is 2-in-a-row) so, although the Negative G's may not be that high, at this speed the Lateral G's would.

  • I'm guessing the main worry was that the roll would put too much stress on the riders, and even more on the trains. But, if they had left it in, I certainly wouldn't have minded giving it a whirl. But I think the should restraints would hit hard in that spot, I think that's one of the reasons they removed it.

  • A heart line roll doesn't whip you around...

  • It looks like it would have been intense but you cant tell me you wouldent have rode it with that wicked twist ;)

  • Holy shit, that looks painful O_O

  • FunAndOnly IS A TROLL. SPAM AND VOTE DOWN ALL OF HIS COMMENTS. READ THEM IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME.

  • @AsItNeverSeems I believe him, because i'm clever like that lmao

  • i rode it when it was still on, it was great i dont see why they took it out

  • @FunAndOnly hahaha im sure you did

  • @FunAndOnly they took out the heartline roll before it opened.

  • @AsItNeverSeems my dad is president of intamin and he let me ride it

  • @FunAndOnly really? before you told me that Intamin sucks and that your dad was the pres of cedar point? and no person was ever allowed to ride the ride until the testing was secure? i sense some trolling here

  • @AsItNeverSeems dumbass hes both, and i do hate intamin

  • @FunAndOnly haha trolls.

  • @FunAndOnly you dont act swedish. can you even speak swedish?

  • @AsItNeverSeems im not swedish dumbass my dad is go kill urself

  • @FunAndOnly really. can you even locate switzerland on the map

  • @AsItNeverSeems yes i can dumbpass

  • @FunAndOnly haha so im a dumbpass now. you just lost the arguement because you were exposed for the fake that you are so you resort to vulger language. and the president of cedar point is very different from the president of Intamin

  • Comment removed

  • I rode it, it didnt hurt... it only hurts ppl wo never done it XD

  • @074Jesse im sure you did too, just like the other guy

  • that would hurt like HELL

  • the g's were too hard on the wheels. It pulled 7 g's every time. They had to take it out or they would have been replacing trains quickly!!

  • The trains would be ok, the riders however...........

  • CrazeyKoaster, that's why I said it may have just been me.

  • The G's were not the problem. Obviosly Intamin wouldn't have included it in the first place if it was dangerous to the riders. It's just that it put too much stress on the trains. Much like the loop on the Son of Beast which has since been removed as well.

  • I wonder what the G-Force was

  • It may be just me, but didn't Cedar Point open Maverick with the heartline roll in it? I remember seeing a small abulance next to Maverick with people getting in it. They shut down the ride for the rest of the day too. Did anyone see this?

  • Look at how quick it whips around... I can imagine that would hurt lots! :S

  • @TimMc333 it hurts like a bitch, but its a real fun ride. so fast

  • @TimMc333

it does. i rode it when I was 11 and it literally felt like i had been in a car accident... but it was still fun!!! and i felt like this the next day?

  • @TimMc333 It doesnt at all its so smooth!

  • @BackToLifeStudios he means the roll, not the ride

  • @TimMc333 actually i have road it and its one of the smoothest rides and it has things on it that makes it so you dont bang your neck around

  • @SamuelisOwesome It's a great ride but you DO get your neck bashed on this...no way to avoid it due to the quick transitions. Those OTS restraints should have been better thought out-they hurt on a ride of this intensity

  • @Coasterdude02149 oh quite ya bitchin i rode that and my neck did not get bashed at all

  • @SamuelisOwesome Good for you...you are not the average rider....I didn't say the ride sucked just that the OTSR did...and they do...If it doesn't hurt your neck-count yourself lucky

  • that looks so cooool i like how it rolls so fast and why ddnt they puut trim brakes before the haerat line??? i have never been to cp but this rde rocks

  • @popsnacks2 it prob wouldn't have enough speed to finish the ride

  • why did they take this out???to many g's???

  • Too much stress on the cars

  • ohhh, it looked fun lol

  • its still one of the best rides ever

  • one of the greatest rides ever

  • It woulda been awesome if they kept it. But the ride is still amazing!

  • it would have been awsome but it pulled 7 g's an aveage human would black ot annd it out alot of stress on the trains and they would have to be replaced very often

  • Seriously?

    That's EPIC!

  • It would not have pulled 7G's. The limit on any coaster is 5.5 vertical, 2.0 lateral, and 2.0 rotational. This particular heartline roll would have pulled too many rotational and possibly too many lateral G's.

  • orly?

Tower of Terror at Gold Reef City.

You're in a mine train and it drops you vertically.

    It pulls a massive 6.3g's.

Forgive me if i'm wrong, but I think that's a lot more than 5.5g.

  • @Frantopia Yes but it only pulls those G's for a second, so it isn't TOO dangerous

  • 7 g's is ridiculous, thats impossible. thats beyond the legal limit. it was removed because cedar point didnt want to have to deal with possible complaints of neck pain from it.

  • bummer that they had to replace it. that would have been awesome. still a great ride though!

  • coming from a disigner

the heart line role would have caused the roller coaster to act in a weird way because there is to much slack going into the roll. so im really saying that all they had to do was add more supports

  • that would have kicked ass.......

  • i think they should have just slowed down the launch

  • That would've caused over banked turns making laterals appear, and decreased Vertical forces.

  • Did anyone actually get to ride it with the roll? Or was it taken out before it opened?

  • One person, Sandor Kernacs (sp?).. the President of Intamin.

  • Ha well that makes sense.

    Lucky him

  • That is one REALLY tight roll.

Man I wish it was still there, must be intense.

  • there are heart line rolls on plenty of other coasters, just this one wasn't meant to be.

  • Lol, If you put your hands up, you can touch the water!

  • why did they take that out?

  • they took it out because the G's were over 4.5 whitch is almost enough to knock someone out.

  • It was actually taken out because it caused to much stress on the trains which would lead to future problems, like more frequent breakdowns.

  • well your only on 4.5 g's for like 0.5 seconds so i dont think you'd get knocked.

  • People got the back injuries when the 'crystal beach cyclon' was still operationg about 50 years ago and it had only 3.8 g.

  • The Crystal Beach Cyclone was actually built 82 years ago, and I heard it pulled more than 5 g's. I've also read that some Schwarzkopf looping coasters pulled more than six.

  • AHHHHH i so wish they would ahve kept this, there wouldnt be any other coaster like it. i heard there were too many G's or somthin like that. Its still a saweet ride though

  • BGRooDoG is right, it is a heartline roll

  • A barrel roll, or an inline twist, consists of a straight track that twists in a straight line. This causes the riders relative elevation to change.

In a heartline roll, the elevation of the track changes with each part of the roll, it increases when the train is upside down. This means that the riders relative height remains the same.

  • coming from an aerobatic airplane pilot, I would say you are wrong.

A "barrel roll" is a 0-1G maneuver the combines a loop and an aileron roll (or "inline twist") When views from the rear, the train (or plane?) would be making a circle as it rolled.

the heartline is actually more similar to a barrel roll than an axial, aileron, or inline roll.

  • wow that heartline roll was too intense they had to take it out

  • thatd be fuckin sweet!!

  • wat does defunct mean

  • Something that once existed, but no longer does

  • il make this clear now

a heartline roll is a STRAIT roll

a barral roll, rolls in the shape of a barral as if it was wraping around somthing

  • and a zero g roll is nothing like the others.

  • A heartline roll is an element where the track revolves around you heart...

  • Your and Idiot... Its my video and its called a the manufacturer called it a Heartline roll...

  • And its only a barrelk roll if the manufacturer doesn't use force vector design and doesn't heartline the coaster Tony Mcgriffles you know nothing.

  • @BGRooDoG More like death roll to me.

  • Yes intamin = retarted for not properly heartlining. =(

  • Although the forces were over what they calculated, the ultimate reason they got rid of the roll was because of the extra stress on the trains. Cedar Point would've had to replace 6 trains every 5 years which is not very cost friendly.

  • no wonder they removed it....looks like that would kill you. still a great ride tho

  • i agree with h3exd

why do they call this a heartlined roll? its not even heartlined

  • This roll is not heart lined.

    Lol.

Heartlined means the track moves around where you heart would be. This roll is moving around the track.

  • im goin to cedar point today for the last day of the season :( im happy i live down the street though.

  • they coulda just lenthinged the roll to make the G-forces more torelable

  • no wonder they removed it!

  • Wat happend i dont see wat happend it looks normal

  • It's goes too fast, and too high G's!

  • I was there that day hahahahah

  • i wanna ride this soo ad but i live in new jersey. :(

  • well i live in england.... -.-

  • arf, i live in belgium O_o

  • i live in AUSTRALIA

  • oh gosh im pretty glad they removed it. that would have been TOO intense.

  • Well, you would not have to ride it if you did not want to!

  • I know what g's are so stop talking to me like I'm a dumbass. And that is not true, I know that there are coasters that pull more than 3 g'd. And that is just something I heard. So chill out

  • you are a dumbass if you think that its 8 or 9 gs.

    3 max, i rode it

  • @soccerlax16 im sure you rode it!

  • Can someone enlighten me on this heartline roll? I just went on the Maverick and I loved it, but now I'm just hearing about this new roll.

  • I heard they removed it prior to the official opening date as it was giving them problems. I don't know what kind of problems they were having, I just know they removed it because of those "problems".

  • They removed it because it pulled to many 'G's' and it would of been to forceful.

  • They removed it also because it was wearing down track.

  • noooooooo

  • its not new, it'sold. they took it out before its opening day.

  • what's the difference between a heartline roll and a barrel roll

  • You would totally not ride ride that. The g's were about 8 or 9

  • There's no way the g's were 8 or 9, for that, you would need a flight pressure suit which is only supplied to Air Force Pilots to keep them from blacking (passing) out. The highest gravity load that any roller coaster pulls is about 3 g's. One g is what you weigh, 2 g's is twice your weight, 3 g's is three times your weight and so on.

  • im going there in 4 days! im so riding that

  • I Would Totally Ride that.

  • whyed they get rid of it and did any one actually get to ride that part ever?

  • no, just the water dummies did. And it was removed because it put to much stress on the trains, and in the long run would cause damage to them. they were also worried about the stress it would put on riders

  • I wish they kept that =(

  • wow thatz why they dint keep it

  • Now i know why the heart monitors exploded!

  • (=oS)

  • :S!!!

  • It looks like it would rip your head right off!

  • thats why they didn't do it!

  • unsafe

  • yes it really is unsafe im glad they fixed it before it opened i rode it and its fun

  • I don't understand why they took it out. So what if they have their head in the water! For me, that would be the coolest thing ever!

  • they took it out because the person who was in charge of building the ride was the first and only person to ride maverick with that twist. he said there were too many G forces forced on the body, so they reconstructed that part.

  • Thank you for that explanation!

  • The G-Forces in the heartline roll would have also put excessive stress on the trains resulting in parts having to be replaced more often, also resulting in more downtime & higher costs to maintain the ride.

  • I can understand excessive G's and stress to the trains, but couldn't they have calculated this before they built it?

  • I guess you're right, I never thought of that. Good point!
