  • sube for sube!

  • - with balls!!

  • thats the woody flowers award :D lol

  • wtf is it?

  • I want one!!

  • Get these balls.

  • :D

  • bearing

  • great work of art and craftsmanship man, keep it up :)

  • Please give me this pendant.

  • WooT!

Another milestone - 1.5 million views!

    Thank you everyone :)

  • bill nye would dissagree

  • i dont get it.....

  • perpetual moving pendant powered by magnet that would be awesome though.

  • @eujeeves

    Awesome idea, but impossible.

  • @stop4stuff not impossible but very hard

  • @stop4stuff some day a genius will come along and put some uranium some lead and figure out a way to rigg all of that to a small electric motor and still make it safe to wear, then i think we will both be happy XP cuz impossible is nothing

  • @luigi14444

Possibly yes, but uranium, when used correctly IS an energy source with a definate lifetime, magnets are not and never will be an energy source.

  • Somewhere there is an overworked and underpaid mechanical engineer who just designed a machine tool where they use this device as a roller bearing.

  • right stop right there... After this video you will be entering the weird side of you tube... I have found the last step of video hopping until you reach said weird side.. So stop.... and go back a few spaces. P.S Video was good...

  • @andypmz07

    Thanks!

I did wonder why this vid was getting so many hits - the weird side must be popular & this vid must be the last stepping stone to the 'other side'.

For all who read this, turn back now!

    ;)

  • @stop4stuff I was on the weird side..I thought this was the way out?!

  • Less gaps for the balls please.

  • @Starringme0

Designed for 32 6mm balls there wasn't enough free space for me to get my fat fingers in there to move the balls, so in the vid there's 31 to show the movement.

  • and what would be the point?

  • @theusorelha

The same point as any other pendant - it hangs around ones neck from a cord or necklace looking cool :)

  • 3d printed? the wires? the balls?

was that 3d printer from the future?

  • @bloodaid

Yes the whole casing is 3D printed metal, the balls are regular steel chrome balls - for the printing side of things, have a google for ProMetal for the steel, and for other 3D printed metals google for Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMSL)

  • WHAT DOES IT DO

  • @Trema13

Same as all pendants do, hang around ones neck looking cool :)

  • Pretty sweet but it looks a little hefty. Maybe you could make one a bit smaller?

  • @Prometheus720

I have one at 2/3 the size waiting to be ordered in Shapeways Silver that will take 4mm balls.

  • Mind: Fucked

  • it got balls bitch

  • What did you do to my ball bearings?! xD

  • Dude sounds like Snape >:)

  • Comment removed

  • ki porra d vidio esse

  • balls...hehe...can i have it

  • that things got balls!

  • @1y9b9b Indeed.. It does have balls.

  • Hehe...balls...

  • what about magnetic balls?

  • @cjl85uk

They would be ok, but they wouldn't be as free to move due to the magnetic poles locking together and attracting to the case.

  • ZUMA

  • hah!...you said balls

  • @HyBrIdWeAp0n

You can get your friends to say balls too, just ask them any of the following questions -

What do do golfers hit with their clubs?

What do player hit with their cues in a game of pool?

    What do soccer players kick?

Think up some more yourself & you can be laughing all day long at your freinds saying 'balls' :)

  • your voice sounds like hawkins

  • WTF??

  • I'm gettin kinda dizzy 0.0

  • WHAT IS THAT THINGY?

  • @playstation3men

Its a rather cool pendant that I designed and had 3D printed.

  • i'm in the intresting part of youtube AGAIN !

  • What is it!?

  • @AllThingsSoftAir

Its a rather cool pendant :)

  • It has balls.

  • This I like!

  • @YamahahaNL

    Thank you!

  • Very cool, but it looks like it's missing a ball or two.

Did you have to remove them for the balls to be movable?

  • @JustOneAsbesto

Thanks! Originally I designed the pendant to take 32 6mm balls, but as you correctly say, 32 was too tight a fit for the balls to move so the pendant has 31 balls - 29 1/4 inch balls fill the space a bit better whilst still being moveable.

  • @stop4stuff so basically what you are saying is that you had to remove one of your balls because it didn't fit comfortably.

    Drastic, no? ^_^

  • @SBwingman

I suppose it was drastic, but not to worry, I have spares in a seperate bag ;)

  • @JustOneAsbesto

He got it empty, the balls are not 3D-printed. And bending it open to stuff in balls is NOT something you want to do often with 3d-printed metal. Because you layer molten hot metal onto cold metal, repeatedly, at scales of a third of a millimetre or less, it doesnt bend that well. Its more like crystalline, rather breaks than bends.

  • weird side of youtube is only one to two clicks away, care!

  • Just cheap...

  • @joshy485

Will a 'tweet' do? That's about as good as my bird impressions get ;)

Seriously though, the pendant is of a form that's near on impossible to cast which is why it is 3D printed on demand by Shapeways, although the pendant is not inexpensive Shapeways provide a cheaper service than going direct to ProMetal who print for Shapeways anyway.

  • ZUMAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • Great work man!

  • @moviesworldexpress

    Thanks!

  • this actually looks pretty cool!

  • @BloodnutXcom

    Thank you!

  • Dude, that is so neat!

  • Wait wat does it do? Lol

  • Very funny and clever!

    Good job!

  • What do you use this item for?

  • @ImixWayeb

Its a rather cool pendant that hangs from my neck on a leather cord attracting attention & comments wherever I go :)

See my follow-up vid for better views and how the cord is strung.

  • i tell you something else thats got balls ;)

  • new meaning to the term 'get the ball rolling'

  • ok thats pretty cool, infinite loop kinda thing going on

  • SAVE ME

  • What's with the people calling you or the item a P.O.S.?

  • @AttackOfLink

Perhaps jealousy, perhaps a lack of understanding... who knows? who cares?

But one day this vid might end up on a TV program, so all the negative ppls will show their true selves and YouTube channels to the whole wide world ;)

  • @AttackOfLink also because they probably haven't been to a school.

  • Right ppls, I'm done with the profanity - If you want to leave a comment please do so, but any swearing will get the message deleted and the user blocked.

    Thank you for your understanding.

  • For sale?

  • @cAWPerN1

Grab the shell from Shapeways (3d printed to order), get yourself some 6mm or 1/4in balls, (steel, plastic, or something else I've been looking at is ceramic bearings) and a suitable necklace (I use a 3mm dia leather cord)

  • show u the back you piece of shit

  • @TheTruthCommonSense

Thank you for your comment - If you have a sensible question to ask, then please do so without the profanity... or you could just use your eyes and view the follow up vid

  • 217 people clicked when they saw "with balls!"

  • I just love how you say Balls at the start of the video

  • excellent work! Outstanding model. My only comment would be that if your wife wants a motorized one....give it to her! ...ahem...no pun intended.

  • @chemicalsweet13

    Thanks!

  • im sure someone already suggested it but put a motor in the middle to make them spin.....

  • Purely the work of a genius, if not for minds like this there is a lot of things we would not be enjoying today.

  • @canonphoto

    Thank you!

  • WTF

  • I didn't know Alan Rickman designed Twin Rail Mobii?

  • wel what a waste of time whats the point of it errrrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmmm jack shit yet another youtube joker

  • @crossycrossfield

The point of it, you ask?

It is a shame you didn't read the title - it is a PENDANT.

another youtuber who spends more time typing than reading

  • "funnily enough my wife had a dream to put a clock work motor in there to make it all happen" - damn

  • dude. that is a mindfuck awesome job!

  • @novacat56

    Thanks :)

  • everything is better with balls XD

  • Looks like 8 shape

  • Congrats you've taken the recirculating ball and nut design that's been in the steering box of every automobile prior to the advent of rack and pinion steering.

  • @14goldmedals

You're the second person to mention that - I hadn't heard of that kind of mechanism before.

  • @stop4stuff the other person must be a mechanic too! But I love your design and it represents a moving piece of art. I also imagine it's a great conversation piece when worn. Nice workmanship. Take care.

  • @14goldmedals Congratulations, you're the first person in my entire life to have used that combination of words together. Now I wonder if stopnstuff had a similar experience...

  • @megadeathx: work·man·ship (wərkmənˌSHip): Noun: 1. The degree of skill with which a product is made or a job done. 2. The skill of a craftsperson or artisan. 3. The quality of something made, as by an artisan. I could go on if you like...

  • That's beautiful nice work!

  • @quisp2112

    Thank you!

  • If you had one in a smaller scale, it could turn out to one awesome steam punk- like necklace.

  • @Vdp0el

I have a rescaled version, 2/3 scale to take 4mm balls, ready and waiting to be ordered in Shapeways 3D printed Silver when I have the spare cash.

  • This is really cool. Thought it was an interesting take on ball bearings, but looks like the metal elements are stationary. Now if you had a working one, it could have some interesting applications...

  • @sevengreenmice

    Thanks!

The nearest I've seen (on YT) is a working mobius sun geartrain, but even that 'cheated' by having flexible materials.

  • yes but... will it Blend ?

  • @XxUniqueRebelxX

Gonna say it again - Probably with a BlendTech blender, ymmv with inferior brands.

  • lغي مفهوم على الاطلاق

  • Smart! But... useful?!

  • @EmilMarius1960

As an artistic piece of jewellery it is very useful especially when swung around ones head to ward off vagabonds.

  • i do believe their is a ball missing

  • @mtinsley198

The pendant was designed to take 32 6mm balls, however 32 balls are a tight fit and do not move as easily - 29 1/4in balls also fit :)

  • Theres a kind of a 2d templete for construction or something? this will be my wedding present for my girlfriend! I need it please!!!!!! :O

  • @mario3070

Hi, the shell for the pendant is 3D printed on demand by Shapeways - see the link in the description for ordering info :)

  • Soo what does it do..?

  • @M2Shab

It hangs around my neck attracting comments from passers by :)

  • @stop4stuff you have a really small neck

  • @meganielz

lol - it doesn't even fit on my pinky, but as a pendant, it hangs around my neck on a 27in leather cord so it goes over my big head ;)

  • @stop4stuff OMG THATS FRICKN AMAZING :D

  • theres no need?

  • its a crap pendant..but if you made it with 24k gold and a round cut diamonds..ooh boy boy...

  • @wewew2012 materialist fag swallower

  • @wewew2012

Find a company who will do a 3D print in 24k gold and let me know - you can be the first to order :)

  • IM STUCK IN AN INFINITE LOOP OF WEIRD YOUTUBE!!!

  • @notsokool333

    'infinite loop'...hahahahahaha

Thank you for giving me something to chuckle about today :)

  • @stop4stuff youre welcome

  • @notsokool333 the escape route is at the top left!

  • Im from Mexico and want to buy it! how can we do the money transfer and sending of the pendant?

  • Im from Mexico, and i want to buy it, how can we do the money transfer and sending of the pendant? by the way, beatyfull desing! this pendant its going to be my present for my girlfriend :)

  • @mario3070

The shell is available (3D printed on demand) from Shapeways via the link in the description - Add your own 6mm or 1/4 inch balls and suitable cord - Also see youtube[.]com[/]watch?v=ztIT9c9PeXU for how the balls go in.

  • @mario3070 id hate to brake it to ya but maybe just maybe ur girlfriend might not liike

  • You didnt design nothing!...

All your doing is showing us over a minute of you handling balls...

If u took the effort to make it, attaching a motor is like 5% more effort

  • @MayhemOfHell

I thank you for your words of wisdom... does your double negative mean I did design it? (sorry, I get confused with double negatives)

  • @stop4stuff Lol.

  • Dear Santa...I want a Pendant with Balls.

  • i feel as though you should put one more barring ball in there....

  • im sorry but this design is very simple...

  • @quagmire9111

    shh, don't tell everyone ;)

  • @stop4stuff Simple has balls. A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away. ~Antoine de Saint-Exupery

  • @ambenitez123

I like that quote - and I can see what I can remove from the pendant to make it something different :)

  • How do I throw my wallet at you?

  • @partylobster

If you want to buy one, the shell is available (3D printed on demand) from Shapeways via the link in the description - Add your own 6mm or 1/4 inch balls

If you just want to throw your wallet at me, shout Catch! or Incoming! I'll do my best not to drop it :)

  • If I had this I would starve to death because well

This is all I'd ever do.

  • this is ZUMA ?:))

  • Bet you wasted a lot of money on this thing!

  • @dirtyboybrad

I won't be as vulgar to say how much money the pendant and the video AdSense revenue has made me, but I will say that I wasted no money or time in the design as I orignally designed it and had it printed for me to wear :)

  • Job well done. I think your critics are just jealous.

  • @roswalt1

    Thank you!

  • aonde eu compro esas bolinhas

  • @gabimarvei

If google translate has got it right, you want to know where to get the balls?

Depending where you are in the world, have a google for 6mm steel balls or bearings - 1/4 inch also fits... 1/4 inch bearings are also commonly used in bicycles, a bicycle spares shop/store might stock them.

  • @stop4stuff metric dude, metric

  • @Adam01111988

For the USA - McMaster-Carr's part number is 9292K41 for 6mm balls, and 1/4" balls part # 9528K15

For the UK - look at simplybearings[.]co[.]uk

For the rest of the world - google is your friend :)

  • OMG! you sound like Stephen Hawking!

  • you sound like the guy from forza 4

  • You most of been on a helicopter.

  • was this recorded with a toaster?

  • @DivingTacos

Oh crumbs, why are you grilling me about my equipment?

  • @stop4stuff Lol almost. Although I don't even have "equipment"

  • @stop4stuff I see what you did there

  • @stop4stuff because he has no idea how to do that

  • @DivingTacos it was recorded out of your ass? pretty amazing huh ?

  • @TrollPolicePatroll Oh, what a troll.
