The fact that you decided that things would be worse without these companies exploiting the workers is not only your opinion, and impossible for anyone to know, but also completely missing the point.
The "it's bad but there's worse" defense is ridiculous. All the video intends to do is try to make consumers aware of what their dollars support. Personally I would rather spend my money on supporting a more ethical form of trade than pretend supporting sweatshops is the best alternative.
If many companies were NOT in these third world countries, many of the workers would be working in far more dangerous conditions than they are when they work in these factories. People who advocate against sweatshops don't realized that sweatshops, regardless of the relatively bad conditions , actually helped raise the standard of living for their workers, You act as if these companies help create these horrible living conditions that are often found in many third world countries.
