Murakami is talking about the original Tamiya Corporation logo in which he is basing that "Signboard TAKASHI" from. The Tamiya Corporation logo has the left background as red and the right background as blue with the stars still remaining white. Murakami explains that they perhaps had taken those colors from the flag of the United States.
