  • Sort of makes the last 40 years of music irrelevant IMO.

  • Great pure Soul

  • I Love Ann doing this......did she write it, and those back- ups go thru my heart !

  • PASSIONFRUIT

  • ¡¡Bellisma canción,es impresionante .Gracias¡¡¡¡

  • thiiisss is reall soul the passin and rawness in her voice ... fuckin hell bring this shit back staright timelesss

  • I bet Janis Joplin liked this song.

  • Wow....this is soul

  • This is the first single by Ann, written for her by Oliver Sain - a great St. Louis soul man himself, see if you can find his song " B - OOGIE " ( the beginnings of disco) ....

  • il ricordo di un ballo...in uno chalet in montagna...

  • never heard this song before but it really hits home ! LUV IT

  • I love this song. This sounds like a song you play on a Friday night with a glass of Bailey's on ice.

  • Sounds like a gospel song....

but doesn't soul have its origins in Gospel,

    anyway, it is moving....

    - I agree the actual so-called R&B is not worth using that lable

  • This music can be traced to West Africa. It evolved over time in slave plantations of South America, Cuba, the West Indies or Caribbean and . It became American in 1803 when the United States purchased Louisiana. It was called the devils music because of the way blacks responded to it. The righteous music was the classical (Mozart etc) and Anglican hymns.

  • Ray Charles was critized for using the "church" sound in rock and roll. Mehalia Jackson was critized for making black sacred music devilish when she created what we now call gospel music.

    This is highly generalized. Sorry.

  • @20b40 What a bunch of BS. Thats like saying that breathing can be traced back to the cave man. the music can be traced to the composer you dumb ass. GET A LIFE!!

  • @20b40 While that's a decent view, i like to think that the best music has always come when different types of people had to put up with each other. Something new better always seemed to come from those situations.

  • never heard of her until now. but i have a feeling i will be playing this song often :)

  • She is underrated. I love her music. She has got some real soul and r&b, not the shit they call r&b now. that's all crap. This is the best. These young kids should hear people like Ann to appreciate where their music came from!

  • Geat song thanks

  • looking for Ann's " I needed somebody." Tear your heart out!

Sounds a bit like this, but her voice is richer.

Thank you for this one!!!!! It is from this album, I think
