  • whats speakers do you like more the mackies or the yamaha's?

  • can a pair of hr824 work well with profire 610? what do you think? any advise?

  • your tweeters are also on the outside....norm would be inside i believe.

  • Really??? Is that a fact? If so I'll turn them around. I know they should be upright ideally but the reason I put the tweeters on the outside was because that's how the NS10s should be so I thought the Mackies should be the same. Please let me know? cheers, Danny

  • Yes Danny tweeters has to be outside i ve never seen tweeters inside so you ve done it right and glad that your 24:8 is still alive :) i ve felt the moment man :):):)

  • HEEEEEEEEYYYYYY

  • Haha you're a great storyteller, great enthusiasm, BUT I will say this; I have no compassion whatsoever with regards to the actual accident. You balanced monitors on sponges making them stand uneven, and then put a fcukin lava lamp on top of the sloping monitor! Vibrations will make ANYTHING move below a certain weight of several kilos, or unless it's secured in some way, as each bass vibration will cause the monitor to shake, and with it, allow what's on top to move. Stupid stupid mistake.

  • In addition, the thing you place on top of the monitor will vibrate with each bass thump, and if it's got loose parts, especially metal and glass (like a lava lam), it will be adding harmonics and ringing and you'll mix like a retard that hears hihats when there are none.

  • Nice studio by the way :) If you want more control (I noticed you're using an oldschool midi keyboard), grab some of Novation's one-of-a-kind controllers (nothing like them exists elsewhere). They have loads of knobs and sliders and they automap to whatever software synth or effect you have open, actually showing parameter values and names ON the controller's LCD. If you want a keyboard I recommend the 49 key model with XY pad. If not, they have a "Zero SL" model with just pots, faders etc.

  • Id never put any lamps Ornaments etc on top of my monitor's your just adding potencial vibration.

The HR824 were originally designed to stand upright , you can lay them on their sides woofers inwards but are better upright (refering to the manual)

Good to see you had a lucky escape.
