  • It's a little blocky, but if you got musicians playing it, they could smooth it out by feel. Other than that, I have very few issues with the piece, and some bit's in it are really inspired. 3:50 - 4:00 was genious, 1:10 - 1:23 was a nice change of feel, and 1:23 - 1:38 makes the metalhead in me orgasm. All in all, really nice job :]

  • I Would Loave To Have A Copy Of The Score. Is This Possible?

  • This would sound perfect in a film. Perfection.

  • It sounds liake a banda sonora.

  • where's the "Infinite Like" button?

  • Oh my God. This is amazing! And it's only your first full orchestra piece? How long have you been doing this?!?!? IT'S SOOOO GOOD!

  • This is really good, keep it up

  • What a good work! I'd love to see the score!

  • you made that all? wow, that's just some talent :) sounds nice! so what program/programs did you use to make this? is music like that possible to be made with finale or sibelius softwares? :O Since those two are the only ones i know how to use :D and once again, nice job! I bet making music with so many instruments requires not only musical talent but also much of technical talent with those softwares :O

  • Be proud of your inspiration from the girl...it's really awesome! :)

  • Wow, really nice job dude! Edirol Orchestra?

  • this is very good, it puts my first orchestral composition to shame

  • What key is this in? it sounds like Bb Major

  • @dadnapt24 It begins in Bb, then modulates to Eb at the main theme, then modulates up a whole tone to F, then at the end goes back to Eb, and modulates up a semitone to end on E. :).

  • @bobhanchef do you have sheet music for sale? I think this will also be a great song for our 6th symphony concert!

  • @dadnapt24 i think you r perfect pitch..

  • Hey dude. Not bad. Was it also played by a real orchestra? Check out my first orchestral piece and give me your feedback. Kind regards, Alex

  • Sounds like a typical disney production.

    THANKS

  • This is Great. This inspires me.

  • I really love this piece. I love your inspiration and the flavors you put into this musical recipe. I'm creating music myself but Im just a beginner. But still. Keep up the good work!!

  • You know how people comment on videos and say; "11 people missed the like button"

Well, I actually DID click on the dislike button by accident! XD I corrected myself though.

  • I wish my computer weren't retarded. I would also have been able to make music :(

    Which program?

  • This is really, a master piece. However, during the sleeping and dreaming section, an english horn solo would have been perfect. Anyhow, * * * * * +)

  • wow, really interesting! i really like it! why have'nt i heard about you before?! ;D

    you are a genius!

  • Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The was perfect for me, to listen that, cause I was wanting to learn how an orchestra compose was made, and I didnt found anything, so I was listen to it, and learned a lot.

  • nice, but the harmony of the tones is not interesting. i think you have tallent

  • not bad

  • Very very good for a first composition for orchestra!! Pass on my channel, also posted my first two first compositions for orchestra. watch?v=5gAodsEKwuA

  • Very well composed. You are truley talented! Two thumbs up! no, five, no TEN, no no no no ELEVEN!!!! very good :P

  • you are totally begginer!

  • Twój warsztat i wyobraźnia wróżą Ci wielką karierę. Mam nadzieje, że to sobie prztłumaczysz mocarcie

  • Very good

  • This is awesome mate :)

  • You're a Jerry Goldsmith fan.

  • @SVAFnemesis Not too much of a fan but I like some of his stuff, there's a bit in this composition which is a lot like 'The Parachutes' from Air Force One I realised.

  • @bobhanchef Beautiful arrangement! Very precise! Everything blends in together in this piece! You must have done this in one take!

  • how did you make it sounds realistic like this?

  • This is truelty amazing to me. In the video there are some Sibelius pics. What did you do to make and so realistic and how hard would it be for me to use it to take some of my works and make them sound like that

  • very cheesy/hollywood american style band piece but an awesome attempt anyway. keep at it

  • I SWEAR I RECOGNISE THE MAIN THEME. At like 0:50...weird.

  • @DanceMyStyle It might be from the Movie 'Air Force One', I think I may have done some slight unconscious borrowing there.

  • @bobhanchef I think is from something else, which tells you that there are so many out there that eventually you will find something similar but it is not., anyhow, this came out great. Thanks for sharing.

  • it sounds like the main theme from the movie airforce one

  • @DanceMyStyle Yes, so did I. It sounds lake the theme from Soaring over California in Disneyland. Thant's what I thought it was at first.

  • This gave me goosebumps. You are a truly amazing composer! So good in fact, that this should be in a movie! Congratualtions

  • Classical touches blended with modern modalities and "movie-like" scoring...

Pretty good for a 1st try....let your dreams be your guide....!

  • Really amazing!

  • Hey man, I'm also a composer and I can tell you this piece is really cute! It reminds me of the music Jan Kaczmarek wrote for the movie "Neverland"... well done!!

  • this is amazing, great orchestration! Mmh, and you're inspired by a girl, that's kind of recognizable :) Keep composing!

  • Super Music ! Congrats ! But can you tell me how you get the chimes in sibelius ? There is an instrument who's called "chimes", but it's only orchestral bells

  • It makes me afraid that people are more and more replaced by computers. Now, even music is performed by them. In some years, music will be written by them as well...

  • no icant believe that u r awesome1!

  • That was great... fantastic. I wish I had that sort of Musical ability :D

  • Fantastic, I will hopefully post one of my own soon!

  • This is great!.. i really like the section that starts around 1:20..really well done..

  • Nice work man!! Keep on it!

  • how do you come up with a good song im havin trouble commin up with my own

  • Wow, I was really impressed by this composition. Great orchestration, nice melodies, funny parts and great atmosphere many places:)

  • dang! your first??? OMG that was amazing you have no idea!

  • can i have the sheet music? :]

  • Amazing, your music is great

  • you are a very good orchestrator!!

  • Very nice!

  • outstanding

  • That was absolutlely antastics. I love your use of variation within tempo and expression, especially near the beginning from about 1:17-1:30 which depcted so much fury and anger, even frustration.. nevertheless it was intense, and this contrasted beautofully in my mind with the magnificent melodic sections (within the majority of the piece) and then, ah, the 'sleeping and dreaming' section of 2:55-3:30 gave me chills. Fantastic well done.

  • I think perhaps the ending is just SLIGHTLY (and this is very picky) abrupt. Perhaps carry on the last chord for a little longer, say, two or three seconds. :)

  • Ottima composizione

  • Hey people, thanks again for all the nice comments; they are greatly appreciated. I had no idea people would actually like this, as I only compose to my own tastes XD.

  • it's simply great

  • that was fantastic! what do you suggest is the best way to learn how to compose? i can read music quite well and write a lot for the piano but i am trying to become more serious about it and want to notate it as well. .what software do you use? what classes did u take?

  • Good job, from a metal musician. I can see some interesting development. Keep going!

  • You obviously have some talent so...Keep writing music! Don't stop! Keep pushing it to the limits! Great great stuff!

  • at around 0:50 to 1:04 it reminded me of my game Halo wars. similar notes.

  • man this is great, i hope i can make such music one day! maybe if you used another library will get better results especially for the brass section nevertheless this is awesome please update when you are done with it

  • this is awsome!

  • Great Job my friend!! Simply wonderful!!! I`m writing a symphony using software instruments too (Apple JamPack) but my music is WAY more classic, like Beethoven, Brahms or Schubert... Your piece sounds like a film score, more modern. Great work, you have future!!

  • Comment removed

  • the part at 3:55 only great

  • for a synth, this is amazing! What was the software??

  • @TJLan86 Thanks! the Orchestra is Edirol HQ Orchestral, there are other better sounding ones, but Edirol is just so easy to use, and it actually responds to bank and patch changes unlike others.

  • kinda soundtrack for an average film

  • nice job, but it lacks a clear, strong and classic melody like the...just that...old classics.

  • This is very good! What software did you use?

  • dont listen to this jacuaw jealous bastard , this is very good, i loved your piece, and even writting an orchestra piece takes a great amount of talent an knowledge ,cheers

what sofware is that i want to get it :D

  • This is more like your tenth composition budy :), it sounds like that, it is very good, I'm not saying that just like that you know, this is really good and keep up with work.

  • AMAZING

  • from your other acct, it seems like you use cakewalk sonar. from 1:14-1:20, i think i heard pizz by the strings. those effects are all included in the program you're using right? also, at around 1:50, i saw notes and staffs, does the program have the feature where you actually get to load/print the scores? also, there's no limit as to how many staffs you're allowed to include in each file right? i am looking for a good composition program. i want to switch the programs i use...thx in advance!!!!

  • I love it...gr888....its the 6th time from yesterday Im listening to it...gr8 composition

  • great job man!...which library have you used?

  • Wow your good. This sounds like film music. But do you have a form in mind? Or a story ? What guided you thorugh the process? Hope to hear from you !!

  • What program are you using to create the music? It sounds surprisingly realistic.

  • Amazing!!!!

  • Amazing!!!

  • Hmm...girl with eyes TO DIE FOR??? Are you gay maybe :) just kidding..;) very nice orchestra

  • Bravo, bravo!!! Well done!!!!!

  • It's pretty good. It has the right style for what the title is saying. There are a few parts that sounded like they didn't belong but overall it was very good. Keep composing!

  • nice transpositions and movements!^^ Very vast and differing characters in them! FAV!!! and I see you've discovered sebelius! XD

  • nice

  • There is no way this is your first composition! This is really good :) Well done! You should compose for film, if you don't already!

  • It's very beutiful! *___________*

  • now i realized you used Edirol? mm, don't you find it hassle to keep save/upload the instrument in Edirol? it's because by default, Edirol not save our preset right?

  • sound realistic. what DAW u used? is it sonar? Is it from Miroslav or East West Quantum Leap?

  • very nice....

  • How long did it take you to compose? its really good.

  • The composition itself was composed in a couple of weeks, it was then about 2-3 months of 'realising' it within the program to make it sound realistic and dynamic; which still isn't perfect XD.

  • yeah, some of my symphonies took me 5mouths . Do you also happen to right sonatas for piano?

  • verdammt gute Ausarbeitung, bin begeistert!

  • Very nice!!!! I like the evolving contrasts with dynamics and instrumentation. I hope you got the girl!!!!!!

  • Great composition ! This is really great.

  • i gotta say this man.. WOW!

i know there are some people bitching about stuff.. I think music is both, an art and a science, but primarily an art, and art is the expression of one's feeling and thoughts, so forget about those who try to get all technical and just enjoy what you do, you got some real talent and people don't understand that not all of us got the chance of going to a conservatory or a music academy, but trust me, the talent is there. nice work!

  • This composition is making for Orchestra to telling what happening in moment or sample to be a human and to telling someting and not is composition for singers and this composition is for smart people not for stupyd people who doesnt understanding this music...

  • @kisiski

    Wha?

  • when i heard it, i thought a was hearing a movie theme. Should sound great on a film.

  • Don't stress over criticism. The point of composing is to create music you enjoy. Who cares what other people think of it if you enjoy it, no matter how simple, complex, technical, or creative?

  • i agree with odoyerules47, dont be shunned by music hating wackos

  • @odoylerules47 It's about your attitude, whether you are willing to improve your works for your audiences or just stay where you are and enjoy yourself. I would carefully analyze every critics that comes to my works.

  • I really enjoyed this piece. Very good! Especially for your first stab at an orchestra composition. It has a very simple, but well-rounded feel to it. Thanks for uploading it!

  • Regardless what style you guys are argueing about, its a good piece, keep up the work. i compose for orchestra myself. but at beginner stage :P This piece is more soundrack style in my opinion for a movie.

  • beautiful

  • oh and you dont have any notion 'bout instrumentation

  • I've taught myself music my whole life, my mum's a single parent and has never been able to afford tuition for me, I taught myself to read it, play the piano, drums, violin, and sing. I have Asperger's Syndrome and listen to music on a completely different plane than others, composition is something I naturally got in to doing, and I compose music that I would deem 'amazing' if I were to hear it. I've made it to University studying Music Composition, so obviously I'm doing something right.

  • obviously not.

    what's your nationality?

  • I'm a dual citizen of England and America, why?

  • Haha that's fine. I do understand the compositional process is very simple. I frequently hear more interesting orchestrations in my head which are much more complex, it's a case of me getting them down though which is difficult at the moment. I'm guessing you like more ambiguous music?

  • this is genius

  • @gokebe i dont thik so

its based on traditionaltechnics i dont like it at all

  • yeah your talking about the complexity, the respect it gets from other composers. I don't think regular people hear all that

  • Strepitoso!!!

  • Great job, i really like it.

  • Awesome composition, good job using the entire orchestra...

  • it sounds like it belongs in a soundtrack for a movie. very beautiful. i love your use of precussion in the piece adds something that many composers dont do to often. =]

  • very inspiring work

    beautiful composition

  • Ahoy everyone, thanks again for all the comments, they are much appreciated. Just a little note for anybody not aware, watching in high quality will increase the quality of the audio; it's a bit rubbish in normal mode.

  • congratulations its a very beautiful pice of music

  • man you are really sababa

  • Klasse Arbeit, ich mags!

Sleeping and dreaming ist mein Favorit hier :)

Hast du auch schon mal was mit Miroslav Philharmonik VST probiert?

    Grüße aus Deutschland~

  • Simply beautiful. starting at 0:35 i got a great feeling

  • just beautiful man!!

  • *GREAT* work! I especially like the transition at about 3:50 to the end... such a fun and creative layering of elements.

And... THANK YOU for proving that synth\computer music can be more than trance\techo stuff.

Well done.... I hope you get the girl. :)

  • Well done, and congratulations on getting Edirol to work, I've never managed to get that to function, so I use my Roland synth for sound production instead:) 5/5 I really like the part starting at 2:08, by the way.

  • it sounds very powerful...I don't get the change of theme from the glorious begining to that point where you have a darker mysterious happening, and then it just sounds like running in the wind freely :X:X:X I love what you've done...are you german or is the tittle the only thing german about it?

  • Ahoy, I'm British and American, it's in German due to the subject of the piece having a thing for the German language, and a couple of my friends living abroad I sent the score to are German. The darker mysterious bit is about a brief event at the 2006 Christmas Ball at my college, it's supposed to represent making a fool out of myself after a bit to drink ;), and being out of control, not in a violent way, but just generally. I might put a full overture style outline in the description. . .

  • really nice. Just want to ask, what music software are you using?

  • Oh. sorry. Should have looked at info before I posted. Well, great work!

  • Pure dope!

  • This is outstanding work! Well done!!!

  • This is awesome!

  • hast du studiert?

  • Ich bin zur Zeit ein Studium an der University of Hertfordshire in England.

  • Sehr schön gemacht! Respekt! Wie lange hast du dafür gebraucht?

  • Beautiful mix of styles! I was truly amazed!

  • Great piece. It has many changes with dynamic, something you see more in movie soundtracks than most older classical pieces but this seems to tell a nice story.

To be honest, I would have liked to see more of a tutorial of how you wrote the composition with Sonar 6.

I just bought Sonar 7 recently along with a M-Audio interface just for making demo drafts, not fully composed, mixed, and mastered pieces but I would still like to see how your composition was made from scratch.

    Thanks!

  • Whoa this is really good! I've put some of my own orchestral compositions on youtube. Feel free to check them out. I'd love to get an opinion from someone who writes as well as you. Awesome piece!
