  • left is shitty xbox 360's and ps3's right is a beast the computer almighty hands down God

  • I defy you to see a difference between 1600x1200 with 32xCSAA with 8x supersample transpearncy, 16x aniso, triple buffering with both aniso and triple sample optimisation and any higher resolution! especially considering that 1600x1200 is on a 19" monitor I may have only a 460, but its clocked to 833 core 1666 shader and 1100 memory which translates to 144gb/sec to videoram. All rock stable done using MSI afterburner. I too have an i5 2500k clocked to 4ghz turbos at 4.7

  • @Dysphoricsmile

ugh, i can tell you from experience. thats not how overclocking a 2500k chip is done. if you have speedstep enabled, the clock will simply jump from a stock 3.3 to your overclocked frequency. a 4 to 4.7 is not how its done. Also, the 460 is a good card, but you can't compare it to higher end cards. It just simply won't have the same amount of cores no matter how high you clock it. just my two cents.

  • @fanmanabc I have speedstep disabled. Therefore it runs a CONSTANT clock, with single core turbo, wtf mobo are you running???

  • Blind Guardian, nice song!

  • "Just graphics" lol :P

  • Blind Guardian XD

  • why the hell does this game always make me think of sacrifice from shiny? the thumbs just draw me like flies to honey.

  • I wish that all games support physx...

  • Okay is it just me or did the physx option bug the shit out of your game? I got 2 nvidia gtx 460 with the option to run in SLI or dedicate one to physx. I tried both options and the game was still buggy as hell with physx installed for this game. Anyone else have glitchy issues with the physx installed?

  • Comment removed

  • @SeanUCF Nope I have one gtx460 and game runs like a charm with physx on.

  • i would have GForce if it wasn't for Physx... they programed it so it only works on NVidia cards... and that's why i got myself ATI Radeon!

Games that use physx are asking to be forgotten!

  • @TheEkxan They didn't program it...it uses physx hardware that's inside the graphics card!

Ati will soon start releasing physx compatible cards too...

  • IT'S FUNNY BECAUSE SPECIAL LIGHT EFFECTS DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH PHYSICS!

  • @FRURMELLL

Kid, have you seen the rocks geting up from the ground with physx. And not doing anything without it?

  • no offence, nvidia is cool but, money wolves.

  • 42 people are jealous on nvidia

  • what is phyX?

  • 42 people are whores to ATI radeon.

  • @RanakaHai 118 people are whores to Nvidia.

  • Well physics in games are cool, and stuff, and the performance hit is to live with. Nvidia is all bussiness, and demand that you buy their cards to be able to play with Physx, and thats fine too - except for the fact that Physx uses some old shit x87 code and no SSE, which basicly means that you are crippled if you use your cpu instead of your graphicscard.

Nice way to cripple everyone without your product in games that use Physx for physics, dickbags.

Oh, and water behaves like liquid mercury

  • @Mokkatomic If you're trying to make a gaming computer... Your CPU should be pretty good.

  • @Mokkatomic totally agree with you except you simply cannot complain about the quality of the quality of in game water, we simply havnt gotten that far yet lol. even a small patch of realistic water would take an entire high end computer to run inside a game and it would still probably lag like shit.

  • @Mokkatomic

Well, there have always been physics in games, right? Even something so primitive as pong had physics (ball rebounds on the paddle and edges). PhysX is basically a way to graphically enhance the way a game is shown using physics.

  • @Mokkatomic I like it

  • @Mokkatomic ARE YOU RETARDED!?!?!?! WHO THE FUCK WOULD USE A CPU TO RENDER GRAPHICS?!?!? MY GOD YOU ARE SO WRONG IN EVERYTHING YOU SAID IT MAKES ME WANT TO VOMIT! YOUR CPU USES "OLD SHIT x86 INSTRUCTIONS!" YOUR VIDEOCARD (which in these days has a minimum of 160 stream processors) Runs instructions that have been run through the old shit assed cpu and then colors, zstencils, textures, shades, and now (semi-new) is Physics processing on card - THIS IS DONE WITH 256BIT FLOATING POINT PRECISION

  • @Mokkatomic Guess what? ALL THE GRAPHIC PRECISION YOUR CPU HAS (unless its a BRAND NEW sandy bridge intel i5 or i7) IS 32BIT! DONT GIVE A FUCK IF U R RUNNING a 64bit OS UR CPU HAS DICK FOR GPU ACCELERATION IN ALL CASES! I mean goddamn I love this invention - the interrnet, it lets fucking retards talk like they know something... AND PPL BELIEVE THEM! I hate ignorance and people being jealous of better setups and rendering.

  • @Mokkatomic OH and those new Intel sandybridges I was talking about? they have a built in GPU with 112 SPE's and oh, yes, what they call nvidia invention which obviously has nothing to offter rendered graphics? PHYSX!! PHYSX does nothing but add to graphics in gameplay. you ppl are obnoxiously retarded those who wrote the posts that provoked my ire and all of you why gavew it a thumbs up, AND all you who have written similar posts.

  • poor amd.

    Nvidia Rulez

  • @gameswindows 8xAGP FX5500 with 256MB can't even run L4D, though, unlike a HD3650 512MB for only 20 euro more. And Havok looks nice in watch?v=NHh8O6d_6V8

  • @gameswindows

    Enjoy your lag, and housefire.

  • @smartguy9765 lag your ass. trollfanboy via

  • @gameswindows

mmmm, delicious butthurt tears. How does it feel to be a tool?

  • i7 Pwns indeed :) It's 4 physical cores though, with hyperthreading.

The i7-920 at 2,66Ghz seems to have roughly comparable cpu-benchmark-results as my overclocked Q6600 @3,83 Ghz. in quite alot of cases. that's the most astounding to me.

  • Im an nvidia fanboy but I think that physX is too much overrated

  • LOL at you jealous ATI fanboys....

  • @87lancerguy

LOL ati cards can do physics aswell. Though they dont use it as a selling point.

  • at least in this game, i prefer it with "just graphics". too many annoying particles there.. specially when the golem hitted the floor. i'd expect dust, not a gazilion of polygons

  • ohh look at all the butthurt ati fags in here who think its gay cuz they dont have it. lol buying a physx card? u can buy any card by nvidia and its physx ready

  • @DJDREKEN LOL they are just too stupid to realize that they could run an ATI card for graphics and a cheaper Nvidia card for physX, and they could have the best of both worlds, but they wanna be fanboys.

  • @87lancerguy

ati+nvidia hack. i wanted to do it till fermi hit the market. now its cheaper just to buy the fermi and skip the bundle. but ive dropped out from the must have everything maxxed out on all games scene

  • ATI is better... Shitty, useless physX.

  • Cool but it dont has a great effect on me

And in sacred 2 it looks very unrealistic

Maybe Mafia 2 will have better PhysX Graphics

  • I saw no difference with the Temple Guardian at the end..

  • @simmsoriginal

The difference was in particules that the wave created on the ground. When the shockwave starts you can see the rocks on the ground spread with it.

Not incredibly done, btut it's still something.

@PhysX is just eye candy :) Pretty cool but not important for the gameplay

    --

No it's not... If all that matters is gameplay, then why improve graphics at all? Why improve sound? All of it is important ! I'm not waitin twenty years to play the same game I had when I was 5.

  • cantplay game to bad graphiccard =(

  • PhysX is just eye candy :) Pretty cool but not important for the gameplay

  • i have xfx 5770 xxx and 9800gt for physx ... xD works

  • ps3 's spu is designed to do this shit, only need library such as havok, no need for extra hardware

    nvidia and intel sucks!

  • @Batu731 You sir, are a retard.

  • @Batu731 So...... then why do all of the computers have Intel, AMD, NVidea or ATI? Now explain me, if they suck that much, why does 1 / 2 of the computers have Nvidea or Intel? Why do computers have better grapichs then consoles? ( new pc's ) Why does Intel and AMD have DualCore, and your PS3 doesn't?

Think again before shouting things, they don't suck, they rule, all those brands rule, they make the best processors and grapich cards. I prefer ATI over Nvidea because of heat problems, but still

  • Massive particle effects processing would benefit from the parallel processing capabilities of a GPU over the CPU but the coding is still leftover from Agea and really needs some optimization. Look at what Battlefield Bad Company 2 does with Havok rather than Physx

  • The first effects, the buffs, are looking more like particles, not like "PhysX" effects >.>

  • The extra graphics isn't what's important here, it's the particle physics, @0:40, you see the particles bouncing off the wall, it isn't prerendered physics, it's calculated realtime.

  • como se llama este juego

     thank you

  • Well i think Nvidia should show us some more Big Booty bitches Big Big Booty Bitches... Aah!... :D

  • It looks cool but looks way over the top at the same time.

  • physx is bollocks, i don't even look at let alone notice it, (you don't look at the mantelpiece when your poking the fire)

  • PhysX deceived me. Bad looking particles and non realistic clothes. Woohoo.

  • This would be nice if it was used correctly, maybe a little bit more sporadic. On top of that, they need to introduce better physx games.

  • @RiVvenGuard Such as Garry's Mod. All physics.

  • how do u activate PhysX in Sacred 2??? i have PhysX but still there aren't any better graphics, what do i need to do ???

  • Since when does rocks bounce?

  • but the version 2.12 of sacred 2 has physx?

  • can physx only work if you are running sli?

  • ... No. It will work if you have the compatible card + drivers. Don't ask people on youtube about your issues with anything. Ask Google.

  • damn the lamers...

batman arkass is the most physix game today

    try it

  • shitty ati asslickers and shiteaters detected

  • Today only a few games support PhysX... and the most of these games are crappy

  • boring stuff

  • The nvidia Physics are actually nvidia particles, its useles and doesn't affect the enviroment with anything. Its a sad way from the revolutionary Ageia physics with destructive environment etc. Some games still are using physics like that but mostly have there on engine and run on the cpu.

  • @optmius99 It's not Nvidia... It's the devlopers, they don't want to risk loosing a buck because the game won't work w/o PhysX.

  • I find Nvidia Physx quite useless... Those nasty looking "extra" particles could be very well procesed by the CPU.

  • I've been pushing similar amounts of particles in 3D space (though with a single plane for collision tests, admittedly) at much better framerates than what the video shows (although I'm sure my tests aren't doing as much actual game logic processing as Sacred 2). A lot can be done with point sprites and a cleverly optimized particle system. PhysX is definitely not a requirement for that. :)

  • @dunnodontcare93

    yes agreed

  • yeah but it would RAPE your FPS

  • Mate, that's defenitly NOT a FPS killer. Take for example Rigs of Rods (Soft-Body Physics game). It processes in real time thousands of beams and nodes, particles, physics variables, friction of those at every millisecond/16 (as far as i remember) and it still manages to get 150FPS on an AMD Athlon 64 X2 2.21GHz (excluding graphics card). Depending on GPU (has some serious graphics based on Ogre3D) the FPS may vary on a normal PC from 40 to 100 FPS. So still, NV Physics not very necesary.

  • Rigs of Rods doesn't seem like such a physics heavy game.

Download the PhysX screensaver demo-thing and run it with GPU Hardware physics disabeled, This will make the CPU do the physics calculations instead of the GPU and see if it does not lag.

  • Rigs of Rods is actualy the most "physics heavy" game up to date. Try it and you'll understand why. TIP: Press K to see the real'time skeleton.

  • agree with you about the nvidia stuff about sacred 2 physX

  • @dunnodontcare93 if you want you computer to lag like hell!

  • @aronjakob1 It won't lag "like hell". Actualy, the Physx FPS game is in the range of 2-3 FPS. So, kinda useless.

  • @aronjakob1 "FPS gain", not game. Sorry.

  • @dunnodontcare93 "Could", yes. "Should", no. If you think the CPU could do that many parallel vector calculations per second and not be noticably lagged, then you're not educated enough in computer science to be making such claims. Then even if it were as fast, Physx has an SDK that makes the implementation of popular physics algorithms easier than hand-coding through software by orders of magnitude.

  • @Wisteso No mate. Todays CPU's are VERY well capable of doing that many vector calculations without disturbing the FPS. The problem is just the code, which could be way better optimized for CPU's. But today, is kinda "cool" to consider giving to the GPU useless calculations. Those wasted GPU MHz's can be used in way more efficient ways for making some other more spectacular GFX effects.

  • @dunnodontcare93 If today's CPUs were able to handle that many calculations easily, then why don't we see other developers having such complex physics as those used in other games like Arkham Asylum? If the CPU can easily handle that, then why do we never see physics as smooth and realistic in ANY other game? Feel free to post a counterpoint, if you think you can find one.

  • @Wisteso As i said earlier, the developers are interested now to develop this technology, because it's "new age". For now, there are few people who are working at some better CPU code. But i'm out mate. Peace.

  • @Wisteso Cpu DO have the power to handle phisics esealy, however it was not made for it, that is why you have to download the driver just for the phisicx work in your vga.

  • @brenosilver No. You're just giving plain wrong information. The CPU can do ANYTHING that hardware can do. The advantage of using hardware is that the CPU can worry about more important things.

Also, if you'd like to make it more apparently you have no education on computer architecture, by all means tell people how a CPU can do real-time cloth simulation (including destruction) without a huge FPS hit.

  • @Wisteso Sorry so intelligent creature of the sky...But what I said its true, when you use the phisicx on your cpu it sometime lags because it has no special drivers or programs or whatever you want to call to handle it smoothly. You can make a test, turn on any game and whatch if ur cpu uses above 60% of its capacity while gaming... Just dont come with BS that you know more then anyone...

  • @brenosilver Well the thing is that I DO know more than most people, and certainly you. Seeing as I've written several games utilizing hardware acceleration and unaccelerated software-mode, I'm actually in a position to speak with experience. The fact that you think making something into a driver magically makes it run faster is ridiculous. Havok physics created a software driver a long time ago and it does very poorly against the specialized hardware. Educate yourself, luddite.

  • @brenosilver Furthermore, take a look at the paper entitled "Implementation of 2D Convolution on FPGA, GPU and CPU" by Ben Cope and look at the real data. If you dont know what SIMD/MIMD and convolutions are, then maybe you're in over your head.

  • @dunnodontcare93

Actually its just not particles it adds. If you looks at Mirror's Edge and Batman Asylum it adds a lot more then just "particles".

  • @dunnodontcare93 How little knowledge you have.. Real Physx require a totaly refresh from their engine.. that was just a patch for more "eye candy".. i sugges you search for Fermi hear demo on youtube and take a look into the future of Physx.

  • @stovnergutt Correction, hair*.

  • @dunnodontcare93 no, it doesn't, as all that nasty looking extra particles are been processed by the GPU you are making your CPU take a breath so can be more useful for other things, despite of this game is good or not, as your thinking way, why not we trash off the video cards and make all the work on the CPU?..

  • @Shinod Actually, that's what AMD is trying to do with their future AMD Fusion platform. In the end, we need as few "parts" as possible. That's where tehnology is heading.

  • @dunnodontcare93 ur dumb :P download the physx fluid and see the increase in performance. see if ur cpu could come close to calculating 15000 particles :P

  • @DJDREKEN That code behind that app is written entierly by Nvidia, with the interest of showing that their GPU's are "the best". Let anyone else write that code, and you will see that the results will be pretty damn close. And watch your words.

  • @dunnodontcare93 This is 100% true. It could actually probably be all done by the CPU but if I recall correctly, sometime ago, ATI stated they were working on their own physics dealy.

  • @dunnodontcare93

    ok.

you do that and i bet your FPS will not go over 10.

  • @BKsMassive it will on my pc although i adore my PhysX :)

    I've got x6 HexaCore 3.2GHz Stock totalling a 19.2GHz Beast :)

you can have 3 cores doing the game, and 3 doing the physics for you :)

but of course, my GTX 480 does it for me :P

  • @pashaahsj

mate it doesn't work like that... xD

    and i have 8MB of level 3 cache on my i7 ;)

  • @BKsMassive haha well i had it set up just like that before buying the gtx :)

  • @pashaahsj er cores.

  • @zingmars cooll ty :)

  • @pashaahsj emm the clock speeds doesnt actually stack up, because the 3.2GHz is the speed for each core, not for one core.

  • @zingmars "for each core, not for one core" .... don't those to phrases mean the exact opposite ?! please explain :S

  • @pashaahsj each core has a clock speed (in your case it's 3.2GHz), and you got accoring to you, you have 6 core CPU, therefore 3.2GHz per core. And that's it, you dont actually multiply your core speed times ammount of cores. You would if the cores would actually sort of form one core, and they would work all on one task, but they dont - they each have their individual tasks. long story short - Core frequency is not multiplied since each core is on its own, and has barely any connection with oth

  • @zingmars so how about my quad core? that would mean 8 core of CPU right?

  • @capcom23 quad means four. quad core CPU has 4 cores inside it/

  • @capcom23 no, only i7 has the ability to do 2 processes in 1 core so 4 cores means 8 processes understand? it means one core do 2 jobs

  • @quangluu96 No, that's hyperthreading. xD So, 4 cores = 4 cores, 8 threads. lol

  • @BKsMassive I doubt that sacred 2 is that CPU power-hungry, and also these are just particles really, so CPU should be able to handle those quite easily really.

  • @BKsMassive

If your CPU can't handle the amount of particles in this video on its own, you need to upgrade, I mean you are in absolutely mandatory need of a CPU replacement because you're problably sporting something from 2003

  • @BKsMassive What did he say?

  • @BlueWaffleMan9000

He said his CPU could render all that PhysX does. i was just like lol.

  • @BKsMassive LMFAO, thanks I didnt feel like looking for his comment

  • @BKsMassive GOD! you console gamers need to get a life and stop trolling on technologies that are outside of your priomitive form of gameplay! FYI! ENABLING PHYSX ON A GTX275 (@90$ online now) Gives you a 3FPS loss to a total avg. of 55fps WITH Full Anti Alaising AND Anisotropic filtering and 1600x1200 RES! get a life.

  • @Dysphoricsmile

1, i do not play consoles. i sold my Xbox 360 after realising how bad the graphics were compared to my rig.

2, the guy i was replying to said his CPU would do everything PhysX does. which is impossible. which is why i said he won't get over 10 FPS.

    3, i have a i5 2500K & a GTX560 Hawk. Love my rig (:

4, only faggots use 1600x1200 resolution. i use 2560x1600 but before i got my big ass monitor i used 1920x1200

5, Yes i know all about AA & AF and all that good shiet.

  • @BKsMassive Only a "faggot" would call someone a faggot for using 1600x1200 when not only is that the MAX many games allow, but it is my monitor's limit! bunch of uneducated apes talking like they know things, I hate ignorance, especially when someone who does know something calls ppl "faggots" for playing on 1600x1200 (which btw is FAR higher than ANY HDTV!) and if you knew a fucking thing about new hardware you WASTED MONEY on a 560 hawx! a 560ti is the same price and MUCH faster!

  • Comment removed

  • @BKsMassive 46 people have old PC ? :-D

  • @dunnodontcare93 It matters when your gpu is under performing and your cpu is at max load.

  • @dunnodontcare93 Pretty sure that if you had them you would have them enabled...

  • @dunnodontcare93 they look nice! But destroy ur FPS.... well this games physX look crap... but mirrors edge or metro 2033 have really nice effect, that rape your graphics card.

  • @dunnodontcare93 but hey, the less load the CPU has to take on the better if you dont own a super powerful 4-6 core CPU. And a CPU with more leg room can take on other tasks like actually making the AI a little more intelligent

  • @dunnodontcare93 I like the physX engine becuz it makes things more realstic. As in cloth simulations, particles, breakable environment!

  • @dunnodontcare93 it's free^^

  • @dunnodontcare93 They can, you just need an nVidia card and you can enable PhysX to run on the CPU.

It is an nVidia exclusive feature though.

  • @dunnodontcare93 Agreed. I think the developers aren't putting enough effort into calculating the physics that actually matter. Give me realistic tubular pressure physics and a USB heart rate monitor so that I can see my heart beat affect my sniping aim in FPS games. Use my headset mic to hear me breathe and have it affect the aim too. Let it have me enter some health info and have it calculate the amount of muscle jitter I'd have while holding weapons of varying weight... That's the future.

  • @dunnodontcare93 lol have fun with that, because i saw a test i7 extreme vs 8800gt and i7 lost o.o, i7 gets about 25fps in physx, while 8800 get 50fps, so if u want cpu to do the job, u can and also dont forget that u also need cpu to load the game data so instead of 25fps, just like @BKsMassive u get 10fps

  • @dunnodontcare93 I you look closely the particles aren't just particles, alot remain on the ground afterwords. Physx dosn't create the particles, Physx is Physics engine, so it gives the particles real life physics that cant be achieved by a game alone unless you have a high-end physics engine. Like Physx is like Havok, but with more visual effects.

  • call a number that isnt given to get something that dosent exist =D

  • looooooooooool

  • @jhbonarius You don't need an extra Physics card, it's integrated in all newer NVidia Cards. Such as GTX295 ;) great SLi card btw

  • @jhbonarius haha

  • how come i get the effect on the right side with my ati 5870 ?

  • please tell me your not that stupid?

  • why am i stupid ?

  • @XNashty

Well, could it be the fact that you fail to understand that an mpeg 4 played in flash is already computed through the physX chip when they recorded it. Youre basically saying that you would need a gtx280 to play a YouTube video of crysis.

  • fucking idiot, i was talking about ingame u stupid fuck !

  • @XNashty

lolz, okok, I have come across some retards who think that though, glad to hear that youre not one of them.

To answer the question, I think if you have those effects "enabled" then the physics will be processed on the cpu side, and without lag either, those are not impressive effects just about 500 particles.

  • good we agree then =D and do u know of any benchmark / tests that has like crazy alot of particles ?

  • There are actual demos that where programmed just for that, usually they will have water, which is a crap load of particles, that is when you start to notice the difference, i think games should try to take full advantage of the physX api.

just seach around, i can remember any sites at the moment.

  • haha okey thanx for the tip :D i will search around right now ;)

  • OMG are stupid or something ?

  • Sacred 2 sucks shit anyway.

  • yea by the the time i got to lvl 30 i killed all the bosses

  • Diablo III, that's the game you want.

  • @blarson12 I agree that the Diablo III will rule because every Diablo was an awesome game. But sacred 2 is a very good rpg, atleast for me, and im very hard to satisfy when it comes to gaming....

  • loled this vid a bullshit , so is the physx

  • If a game shows the Nvidia logo splash screen when executing a game. That means it uses PhysX and it's best to leave PhysX on. Also most PhysX based games like Crysis won't even start and will show a blank black screen if it is turned off. Trust me i did that and all i got was a blank black screen. If you are playing a non-PhysX based game, then it might help to turn PhysX off in order to free up some video card prossesing power.

  • Borderland has the Nvidia logo and doesn't have Physx. I just tested it. The splatter from rock particles are all the same physix on and off. Same with water splash and the way bandits/zombies fall when shot dead. All the same. My card is the GTX 295.

In Borderland, all of the particle reactions are just copies of already made graphics.

  • If you turn your PhysX off you will notice more lag.

  • I notice no difference in FPS. Everything on high, LOD bias clamped, AA amped up to 32QX. All settings on Quality over performance.

  • Go into Nvidia control panel and click on set PhysX configuration. Then click on disable PhysX. You should then notice more lag when you play an optimized for Nvidia game which is any game with the splash screen intro that says " Nvidia, the way it's meant to be played. " .

  • From my experienc with Crysis, if i turn PhysX off and play it with OpenCL. The game has more lag.

  • No, I meant I put all graphics optimization at the highest and tested the game with Physx off and on. Both with 0 lag. I tested it with FRAPs and got a solid 62 frames both with Physx enabled and disabled.

But if the game uses Physx, then I can see how the frames would drop and lag the game.

  • Well Crysis doesn't use hardware Physics anyway :)

  • Yes but it might in the future for Crysis 2.

  • Thats based on how high you put your settings up in the graphics menu and has nothing to do with PhysX dude.

  • Itst time to make ATI+Nvidia :)

  • Ati+Nvidia together = This giant card that cannot fit into a PC that is so powerful it requires a 5000W PSU and runs at 1petaflop/s speed with 50gbs of dedicated grraphics memory.

    It still wouldn't run crysis.

  • Damn crysis , you are right I fear that game.

  • so is this a download program?? or comes with the new video cards of nvidia?? and also... is sacred 2 an online game?? looks kinda like diablo :D
