Hey I hope u still post on this vid!! I was wondering if this swap would work on a 2001 Chevy Silverado? I believe they are the same stick but I'm not sure. I would like to get a double din in the truck because din and a half head units are lacking in verity..

Did you have te get your cluster reprogrammed so it fit with your 'Hoe VIN and milleage?

What about the steering wheel commands? Are they still useable?

So with the 03 stereo cage, did you need the new bezel? Or could you use the old one? casue all i want to do is put a double din in my 2001 yukon, i dont want to change the ac control on the dash if possible.

did you run into any major problems installing that radio? and what did you do for the hvac because ive read that it has a gap when using the 2003 bezel and cage.

love the tahoe! but how did you get that dash pocket? I have the passenger airbag switch thing right there.. and a bunch of nothing with it and i would rather have that pocket for my phone or whatever

LordGeek, when you said in a post reply " so all you need to do is switch out the radio cage (little modication needed) and install new bezel and poof .. you're done," What did you mean by "little modification"?...i plan on getting the radio cage and i have the bezel on order. will there have to be any cutting/trimming to fit the radio cage? or would I just have to screw it in using the existing holes of the "03 radio cage? Thanks for your help

how about shotting a video of the actualll inner portion of that panel so I can see what frame you are tlaking about for the radio, because i bought an 03 panel but i dont understand what to get for the actuial radio to stay in plac, as well the panel doesnt seem to fit well with the ac control will all that change if i switch that frame that holds both the air controls and the radio with the 03 frame if u can show me what you changed exactly id really appreciate it

@dbahsee When you removed your old radio from the from the (I dont even know what you have yet, you haven't stated) !! But, behind your radio, the box that it sits in that is mounted with 4 screws and possibly 2 rivits .. that is the "Radio Cage" .. if you have a 2001 or 2002 vehicle, you will need to remove this and find the exact same thing from a 2003 to 2006 Tahoe, Suburban or Silverado. My Tahoe is a 2002, I purchase off eBay the Radio Cage from a 2003 Silverado .. thats how mine is mounted

Well I took your advice and I ordered a stock radio install kit for a double din radio. But i need to buy the front bezel, when you say bezel do you mean that whole panel that comes of cus that is actually one piece. So you actually replaced the whole panel cus i dont find jsut the bezel?? can u tell me where u got yours ??

my uncle has an 05 and he wants me to put a pioner avic-z110bt in it for him cause he likes mines, does it just fit clean like urs? cause i did my friends 02 and the 1din took up almost the whole space, i know the 02 is a little different then 03-06. also he has the boses speakers with the stock amp, will that still work or is there some special adapter, different from the normal cheap on i need or is there a way to wire it?

@PSPHaCkErAOD For your AVIC in a 03 to 06, it should be a straight switchout .. however, you will need an accessory in order for it to work with your existing Bose speakers/amp .. head to TahoeYukonForum .. world of information up there, will get the exact item you will need listed in the forums.

Can I ask you what you did to make your double din radio fit in the space, cus i have a double din in there as well but i had to modify the inner body structure by cutting some plastic pieces, but my dario is only braced with foam and cardoard to hold if or the moment . can you tell me what your doing to get it to fit in there so nicely mine looks horrible at the moment

@dbahsee You can do this by finding a "radio cage" from a 2003-06 Tahoe, Suburban or Silverado .. also find the front "bezel" from these years also. Reason, 2003 and on, our vehicles came factory with double din radios .. so all you need to do is switch out the radio cage (little modication needed) and install new bezel and poof .. you're done.

i have a 00 tahoe will the dvd fit mine or ill have 2 change things like the cover of the dash board thats covering the dvd and heat control? and put a picture of the lights all of them so i can get some and will the escalade cluster work on my 00?
