Parmesan cheese requires an animal to die for the cheese to be produced...many other cheeses do not, normally they are curdled (?) with the use of a microbe...most genuine french cheeses are required to use animal rennet to make them in order to get the seal of approval from the government....pain in the arse when you are a veggie because not all cheeses state whether they are vegetarian friendly or not...not all goats cheese is suitable for vegetarians unfortunately....

@blondecat - Goats cheese is suitable for vegetarians...not vegans...i thought she was vegetarian?

Parmesan is suitable for neither, as it has rennet in it.

Luisa fibbing again. First, she wouldn't eat real Parmesan, only the veggie version, and now she eats the goat cheese no problem... Couldn't pronounce oregano, so I think she is as much Italian as I am.
