Hi, nice blofeld WT love. Try layering two Polated tables and slightly detune them against one another. Also experiment heavily with crossfading into/out of two layered tables by modulating with the looping Envs. Also don't forget Wavetable start position mod destination added after one of the last updates. That is alot of fun to be had. Also read the XTk manual for deeper wt programming (waldorf cheaped out and didn't put these specifics in bf man). Cheers
@djemptyx I'm running OSv1.15.1, cheers for the ideas, the great thing about this synth is that there is always something different to try out, cheers for the tip on the XT manual
The only upgrade i've given it was the os update, the keyboard version has all the same wavetables, but it allows you to create your own. I've not gone for the upgrade, as i dont know the first thing about creating wavetables, and i'm still not done exploring the synthesis options on here
I've ben using it now for six months and still haven't tired of it, there are still unexplored options on it too, one complaint i have is that its a bit big sounding to fit in mixes, but this can be cured with a bit of highpass filtering
I'm a big fan of the old Tangerine Dream-type 'weird human voice' sounds as heard on 'Exit'. I assumed they were from the PPG since I thought I could hear the sound 'clicking' through the wavetables. Does the Blofeld have many vocal wavetables or indeed any TD presets?
It defiantly has some vocal wavetables, I think it has a male, and female wavetables. As for tangerine dream sounds, it wouldn't be hard to make some at all. You could probably recreate TD sounds exactly, if you tried.
Hey dude I've heard the Blofeld is missing the wavetable envelopes of the XT but I take it from your demo that you do have some control of the wavetables via a modulator or something i.e. can you get around not having dedicated wavetable envelopes on the Blofeld by say assigning one via the mod matrix?
oops didn't see the post date. im on my phone. you probably have wt synthesis mastered since 2008 ;p

the mod matrix alows you to assign an envelope to the wavetable position. its very flexible and offers mod possiblities i'd never even dreamt of.

I think I'm sold! Cheers bud ;)
