MIT's Seaswarm - Nano tech fabric carried by self-powered robots can clean oil from water

People this is but an application of swarm robotics, nanotechnology (self propelling nanobots in water) and biochemistry. Shows us the need to impart knowledge in inter-disciplinary fashion in the schools/colleges of tomorrow.

This is RETARDED! straw already does this ... just have to go out there and use it to collect oil.

@TheOriginalEntz No - Straw doesn't separate oil from water. It'll absorb a lot, but it doesn't separate.

It's one of a few good ideas that they haven't done yet. Many things have been proposed but BP has been allowed to dictate how the cleanup had progressed. I think we should just do it and send them a bill.
