  • Class if this music style ever comes back the world would be happy

  • @RetroForever1228 Because most of today's music with few exceptions, sucks. This is real music, real talent.

  • Wow! Shalamar was the stuff back in the 70's and 80's. I loved just about everything they did back then. They'll never be groups/singers like that ever again. It's a shame that the group went through such a bad break up. Kudos to Howard Hewett, Jody Watley, and Jeffrey Daniel.

  • im 13 and i prefer the songs from the 80's to the new songs in the charts hehe :)

  • OH "F" IT I GIVE UP!

  • DAMNIT What I meant to say was 43 people NEED to make THIS a night to remember!

  • 53 people NEED to make a NIGHT to remember :)

  • I love this song, but wtf is up wit the video??? Why is the bartender singing to a dude and are they getting ready to have a 3- some? Guess why they said it was gonna be a night to remember. lol

  • @MIZARC215 that's what I was thinking.

    1) "Love of My Life (Worldwide)" by Erykah Badu, Angie Stone, Bahamadia, and Queen Latifah

    2) "Ain't Leaving Without You" by Jaheim

    3) "Fool for You" by Cee Lo Green ft. Melanie Fiona

    through Dance class.

(And thank God I did, these songs make my day)

    :)

  • @mactheweld Im 20 and i prefer 80's to any other generation of music! however on the flip side i also enjoy house music!

  • @DAN55S1 You have very good taste. 80's music was the best era of music ever.

  • i'm 15 and almost every song written by any band formed in the last 10 to 15 years i hate with a fervor. these guys are GREAT!

  • @mactheweld

    BULLSHIT N****!!!!

  • YES

  • yes too right ive seen shalamar lots live , i still love hearing them.

  • I'm only 3 months old and I love this song!! LOL I just don't get why people declare how old they are. Good music lives forever and reaches all generations. I'm 22, but that don't mean I gotta just listen to Rihanna.

  • THIS IS A TUNE!

  • @stevieghhost IT IIIS ad im obsessed with 80's n 90's i was born in 90 and i just cant get enough the music now (POP) is good but idk bout the rest

  • Shalamar, Jeffrey Daniel, Jody Watley, and Howard Hewett are all over YouTube.....past and present. Everyone is in their 50's, all look great, and still doing what they do. Shalamar still performs (in the UK), but not with Jody, someone new.....Carolyn G. For the youger generation.....key them in on this site. Find out which one's in FASHION, A CAMMILLION, A GREAT SOLO ACT, A JUDGE, & A WORLD TRAVELER WITH RESIDENCIES OUT THE YANG!!!!!!

  • Looking at the comments here about age, I might as well join in too. I'm only in my 30's, which is very very young and I knew this music was and always will be the best, lol.

  • @1976pva...it was jeffrey daniels, he created it, MJ perfected it.

  • 25 years of age and I love old school music, especially funk and disco, My Uncle got me right into it and now I don't wanna get out.

  • i actually love this song soo much!

was partying to this tune with aload of

oldies in their 40's other night im only 20! :P

  • Im 18, from the UK. Listen to hiphop but i can still get down to this!

    wooooo

  • True soul and funk. Dunno which guy but one of them apparently showed MJ the basic steps to the moonwalk.

  • @1976PVA His name is Jeffry Daniels and he did indeed create the Moonwalk. He is the bartender here. He and Howie and Jodie were all dancers on Soul Train when Don Cornelius decided to start a group.

  • Sick of the commercial intrusions. Don't need it. Or want it. But the song is a sho' nuff jam!

  • Im 21, and im sorry my generation screwed up music,

Sincerely, wish i born in this era.

  • @dexx2323 I feel the same way. I'm 24 and can't stand what I hear on the radio. This is the kind of stuff I love.

  • For all you young(er) people loving this...THIS is happy music, not angry music. Happy is better. Anger is toxic.

  • Brother and they S curls in the 80's

  • This is my favorite song from The Original Shalamar and it's AWESOME and this song was a Top 10 Hit on the R&B/Soul Chart and their 6th Top 100 Pop Hit

This song was out when Diff'rent Strokes, The Facts of Life, Benson, One Day at a Time, The Jeffersons, Hart to Hart, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, T.J. Hooker, Dallas, Knots Landing, Falcon Crest, M*A*S*H, Trapper John, M.D., The Dukes of Hazzard, Alice, The Joker's Wild, The NEW Tic Tac Dough, BULLSEYE and 3-2-1 Contact were still on the air

  • WOW!!! A song with lyrics that make sense. They make em like these anymore.

  • this song is the BOMB!!!

  • wow luv this song and im only 11!!!!

  • OMG Jody Watley was and is the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen. I remember when this came out when I was in my 20's and it still sounds good. The whole group was talented-too bad they couldn't get along and were being ripped off by their manager.

  • I'm watching them on Unsung right now.

    I LOVE Shalamar.

  • @JasandVA me too!!

  • @JasandVA Gotta watch jody Watley's Unfiltered on here (youtube) it fills in a lot of blanks and even has the original lead singer Gerald who speaks on what Jefrrey Daniels said about him waiting on a phone call. Howard Hewett and Dick Griffey ruined Shalamar

  • @nuthinbutclassics

Yep, Howard started to get full of himself. He also made destructive decisions in his personal life also. Ask Nia Pebbles. We are all human. But the group falling apart was mostly due to Howard being made to feel that he was some how above the rest of the members. You live and learn. You hit it on the head.

  • This was the jam back in the day, and it was a song that you could really get your groove on!

  • REAL Music!!!!!!!!

  • i fuckin love this song!

  • she looks like a ghost

  • Um... CHOOOOOOOOOON

  • so glad i was there and not in the manufactured world of crap singers today................sweet2def got it right

  • Jodi was/is so f*ckin fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I spun this at a roller rink once :D

  • Jeffrey Daniels and Howard Hewett were so hot.. zssssss...ooh ouch

  • I LOVED SHALAMAR!! great hits, good times!

  • LOL

  • WHY THE FUCK IS THERE COMMERCIALS ON YOUTUBE. I HATE THEM

  • i never knew they were at each others throats

  • The '80s Damn the jams were hot and Shalamar was sexy as hell!

  • im 24 and got this on repeat ! thanx 2 Ma damn DADDY !! lol

  • @mzbaddluscious Im 15 and am the same! haha

  • The bass line is serious!!

  • gimme the groove!!

  • high school memories, well shoulda been in school but had kids!!!! great jam crank it up!!!!!

  • I'm only 21 and I was raised on music like this, just wish music was still like this. This what you call feel good music:-)

  • yo "sweet"....i agree with you more than life itself!!! and "fleestar" please dont ever talk about this song in the same breath as those heathens...they dont deserve it..i may sound old but...THEY REALLY DONT MAKE EM LIKE DIS ANYMORE!!!

  • didnt c it on X , my opinion is any song remixed are mostly ruined .. from what they were when they first come out >> I myself have always ;loved Motown >>Def thumbs up

  • Who the fuck is the risk?

  • @JOSERULZ69

some useless boy group on uk x factor

  • Jody look like the black bride of frankenstein

  • This song was and still is awesome, wonderful to dance to and still got a nice groove to it, no one can top SHALAMAR.......xfactor or no xfactor ok

  • Fuck X Factor, a machine that kills the soul of real music, having cheap imitations singing real hits like this that have no business singing real music like it's there's and ruining them too.

These new singers today are just factory made artists like dollies put there for quick easy money for the industry for 5 mins of fame. If they want to sing these songs just go to a karaoke bar and have little karaoke competitions that's cool. Leave real music like this alone tho.

  • I'M GLAD THAT I WAS ABLE TO B BLESSED TO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO LISTEN TO THIS GROUP. REAL MUSIC. WATCHED JODI WATLEY AND JEFFREY DANIELS ON SOUL TRAIN. LOVE EM'! WAS A TEENAGER.

  • to be true

    i don't know what x factor is

    but i know botch...

  • X- Factor? This is a complete and utter classic.

  • Jeffrey Daniel is the man

  • is it cool lol

  • lol, what the fuck is x-factor, does anybody listen to real music these days without some dumb reasoning to do so?

  • @Wiederspringer there are lot's of people who do in fact. They just don't scream about it because there is no false pride, or showing friends how cool u are. There's just the enjoyment of real music :)

  • @88Cortex , yeah, never mind, this was sort of cry into the darkness of ignorance and pseudovalues that consumed this world ;)

  • ARE THEY GOING TO HAVE A THREESOME LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.

  • #moviemakerfellings

  • so, did they have a threesome that night?

  • such a brill track n group- so many good memories- when u went out for the night to dance and talk and laugh!!! not drink n fight!!!!!

  • @claire30061 wonderful times Claire, my sons ask what was so special about the 70s and I try to explain to them we went out too party, have fun, get drunk yeah but no fighting jjust laughing and enjoying, life. Was wonderful to be young and free.

  • i'm 14 - yet i love this song!

  • @TheBestShow321 because they are feeding your generation bullshit sound that merely passes the test for being 'music' (im talking modern mainstream! It sucks man.. almost all of it isn't real music)

  • This beat makes me want to hit the dance floor like back in the day!

  • everytime this song comes on the radio and me and my dad are in the car together we sing it all loud. this is a great song :D

  • I say this with EVERY fibre of my being:

    FUCK XFACTOR

    That is all

  • 48 people are mad, just like me, that they didn't even know until now that there was a video for this outstanding and timeless jam!!

  • This song reminds me of one rainy cold night in Los Angeles. I was selling cars for General Motors, and we had a brand new Tuxedo Black C5 Corvette on the showroom floor. I sat in those leather seats, turned this song on, and closed my eyes...HELL YEAH

  • I use to bump this on my walkman back in the day!!!!

  • I just re made this. And its a smashhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. Thank You Howard Hewitt
