  • now add the 2nd cake onto the top. poke holes again pipe some regular whipping cream around the edges and pour the 3 milks on to the cake and fill in the top with whipped cream and along the sides... you can add strawberries for Garnish to the top...((((purpose of piping a border of whipped cream around the cake edge is to make sure all of the 3 milks get absorbed into the cake thats the method that worked for best for me.))) This cake is Great!!!!

  • make the Tres leche part. This is the 3 milks part. 1 can evaporated milk. 1 can of sweetened condensed milk. 1 pint of heavey whipping cream.stir together. . poke holes in the cake. could pipe a border of the vanilla whipping cream around the cake outer circle. then pour half of the 3 milk mixture on to the holes on top of the cake then finish frosting middle of cake with the Vanilla whipping cream. and add sliced strawberrys.

  • WHIPPED CREAM

    1 qrt heavey whipping cream mix for a few min. Then add 1 cup powdered sugar. mix until it makes light fluffy peaks. seperate 1/3 of whipping cream into a bowl put remainder in tothe freezer until needed... in 1/3 mixture of whipping cream add 1 cup strawberry glaze and 1 small pack of vanilla instant pudding mixture.

  • 3 cups flour 2 cups sugar 1 tsp Baking powder 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp baking soda blend then add 1 1/2 cups mexican Crema 2 sticks soften salted butter 4 eggs 2 tsp Vanilla mix until really smooth spray baking pans 2 rounds took her 35-40 min usually baking 350 degrees like a box cake chill bowl and beaters for whipped cream
  • Thank you so to your family for posting these videos...I made this cake and it wowed my Mexican Husband... I tried once upon a time ago to make this and I didnt have a good recipe and he ate it but said it was not that great though..so I never tried again to make mexican dishes for him..cause I felt like a faliure. Now that I made this cake recipe He was shocked and he took cake to all his friends bragging to them that I had made this cake...Thank you soo much .please keep posting mex. Recipes.

  • girl, I tried this easy recipe and it was sooooo good, I din't use the filling though, i made two cakes for two different days and people loved it, yum... i used organic wheat flour also and ingredients... thank you

  • yeah mexican crema is basically sour cream, but with a fattier content....sour cream should work though....and oh sugar should always be added in as wet ingredients and not dry.

  • I have never had a pastel de tres leches with out kalua( u made a virgin pastel ) a real mexican pastel de tres leches has alcohol an one more thing u dnt need to poke the cake with a fork to make holes the cake will absorb the mix of leches whe its hot not so much when its cool

  • this is a traditional tres leches, whatever you've had with kalua is a new or improved version. and you are absolutely wrong the real tres leches does NOT have alcohol.

  • thats not true ... real traditional tres leches cakes are made with rum, not enough to get you drunk but to help in the moistening process of the cake. These cakes with out it are the "new" or improved version....white washed as many mexicans would say

  • did you remove the paper bags from under the cake or just cut the outer pieces?

  • I removed the paper. You could also use wax paper. Make sure you put one hand on the cake when you pull it out so it doesn't split apart. Good luck!

  • I have made a few of these, I used a regular mixer which worked fine. Yet alot more work for me of course! lol. My husband is from Guatemala. He's always wanting me to make this! It is YUMMY!!!
