Here's an update for everyone so you don't have to post comments about the idle speed anymore...

I just got the bike out of the shop. The carburetor was dirty and had metal shavings in it (from the factory). After a good cleaning and an Oil Change this thing purrrs like the beast it is. I'm about to get it home and take it back to the track and I'll get some footage up of it running right.

yep 125 is a 2 stroke version of the 250f, then the yz250 is a 2 stroke version of the 450, but the 2 strokes pull alot harder and are very competitive

I'm not sure what four strokes you've been riding, but these days they pull about as hard as any two stroke. The power is just more controlled on a four. If the two strokes pulled harder and were more competitive people would still be running them in races.

Yeah, well it was. But it doesn't really matter where I set the idle screw. I've tried tweaking it myself. I can eventually get it to a sweet spot, but it still idles up high, or bogs when I get on it.

It's definitely not the choke sticking, because the idle speed varies too much for that. It will be high, then it will be super low and bog when I get on it. And fuel doesn't drain when it's running, but after running and shutting it off fuel does pour out of the drain lines.

You have to do it on all the new 4 strokes. That's part of the allure of a 2 stroke now, they can claim to be less maintenance than a 4 stroke. Didn't used to be that way. The Honda is the worst for this with the uni-cam valve muncher, The yamaha has a maintenance advantage with the 5 valve titanium head but the Honda is likely the better machine-for now;-) We know a kid who siezed his Honda ignoring valve maintenance. Gets expensive if you can't do it yourself!!!
