This has been available in Japan for about a decade or more.

In Japan, they put messages into posters and transit ads, you scan with your phone, and it gives you info, or you can win a prize or, sometimes, it's part of a game and the clue is hidden in the bar code on the transit ad. Also, sports teams and athletes have messages and stats and such in their public posters.

This is way behind, but good to see someone trying.

Japan and Europe are ahead of us on a lot of things. We have had carriers using proprietary ways of doing the same thing to lock the customers in.
