I stopped watching at 3:55. I'm looking for a tutorial on how to build an army, not watching your ambush in progress and learn about forgotten beasts. You may want to think about renaming this video as a courtesy to your viewers.

My first ever fort, gatesteepes (Terribly made and managed) encountered a forgotten beast, made entirely of fog, correct me if I'm wrong but this type is unkillable, I was freaking out, my military was an unarmed un-armoured un-trained shermozel with terrible stats, they where against an unkillable poison cloud... the creature then drowned it's self. :3 crisis averted!

the problem is NO-ONE does a DFTUT using the default DF tileset, meaning that everyone who doesn't want or can't use a tileset is fucked,..

I have to agree, losing IS fun. a it agitating sure, but hell loads of fun when you go against like 6 gobs and get only 4 out of 14 guys killed,

thats not what defeated me of course. I was defeated by cave collapse. nearly half my fortress was buried alive. XD

Hey, Cap'n. I need some advice from a pro. I got ambushed by two goblin parties at once. I was just barely able to hold them off. I killed all of them but they killed a bunch of my dwarves and now everyone seems to be throwing tantrums and calming down immediately. Should I abandon or try to clean up the mess?

@CameraMan9258 Trying wont hurt, but the Tantrum thing can and will get annoying. I Had a Population of over 100 Dwarfs once, which then killed itself because a bunch of Miners died in the Caves (Most of them had many friends). I Tried my best to fix it, even tried to isolate the Berserkers but in the end when a Goblin Siege came my Defense was preoccupied with destroying stuff and killing each other.

Does armor in Version 0.31.16 still act as though its steel? Because that would explain how my 42 dwarves were ass buttered up and down their own halls by about 5 goblins. :P

@Gavoon123 Do you export stuff? Try making some expensive stuff, electrum crafts for example and selling those. The more worth your fort is the higher the chance the goblins will come. But it can happen that goblins become extinct in your world during world gen. Megabeasts and forgotten beasts should still show up then though

Hello Captain Duck. I've watched all your old tutorials and now watching these to see what's new in DF2010 as you call it.

The only thing I wanted to mention was a small grammar thing you've put in the text with your videos. When you could use the word "as well" instead of "too" it's spelled with two o's instead of one. Just a little useless comment from a useless youtube viewer. :3

@captnduck that is because "to" is also an english word. "Too" is used in place of "as well" and to is used in the form of a verb (like "I am going TO the store." "I want TO go TO the store, TOO"

I don't know what's the deal with goblins. They can't even struck a closed door placed in the main entrance, so goblins just stay outside waiting helplessly until next caravan arrival.

Because of how retarded nasty and early the goblin raids can be I now always embark with every dwarf having at least novice sword/armor/shield skills and at the very least some cheap copper swords and leather armor. Then my first goal after embarking is to get metalworks up and running so I can start cranking out iron (and steel if I'm lucky) weapons and armor as quickly as possible.
