  • If granny smiths parents were seed collectors, and had no food, How in equestria did she get her cutie mark as an apple pie??

  • The music really made this segment. Just wow.

  • Damn it.

    Eyes... so... watery... hgggggh...

  • William Anderson linked to this video on his official website!

  • Granny Smith is a liar and a fraud!

  • Y no download link?

  • Brings a tear to my eye. :')

  • How many times can i fall in love with this show.

    Great Story

    Wonderful Characters

    Fantastic Shout Outs

Hilarious Moments as well as Hearwarming and Awesome ones

    A brilliant Fanbase

And some of the most epic music around.

WHERE HAS THIS SHOW BEEN ALL MY LIFE!

  • "And that's how Ponyville was made!"

  • Omg this episode made me cry for 5 minutes!! That's how much I love it. :D

  • What was Granny Smith's name before she was a granny?

  • @ErichoTTA Annie Smith

  • The recurring bits at 1:08, 1:58, 3:00, etc. are the some of the prettiest things I've ever heard.

  • That ending made me cry. So beautiful. The way the music comes full circle and creates a grand sound to go along with the founding of a town is just so incredible.

  • gets me every time.

  • 4:08-end is so amazing!

  • Some of the BGM in this show just stuns me, I can't believe something that sounds as beautiful as this I would ever find in a TV show rather than a movie. William Anderson is brilliant :) definitely a valued member of the MLP Team.

  • Best BGM I heard in a while :D especially at around 1:35-cont.

  • I'm picking up heavy elements of Ashokan Farewell (theme from Ken Burn's Civil War) during a few sequences. Or I'm just tone deaf and crazy.

  • Wow.

William Anderson really is one of the unsung heroes of MLP.

This whole sequence was just so much more emotional with just the music.

As important as the dialogue was, and is, it can distract the conscious mind from the subtleties of both the music and animation.

  • The ending always gives me chills

  • @Gaarott Ditto. I think this is one of the most touching episodes so far, and it doesn't even feature the mane six.

  • Last few bars of that one always get a manly tear outta me.

  • 1:33 always makes me think of Edward scissor-hands.

  • And that's how Ponyville was made!

  • I found this episode to be rather dull and boring.

  • @BearsAteMyCat It just wasn't written very well, and as much the Cutie Mark Crusader's are a cool group, I'm starting to think that they've run their course.

  • @NintendoSpoofer I always say "At least it wasn't Mare-Do-Well".

  • But I think she wanted you, Applebloom, of all people to know the truth. Granny Smith wanted to live on in your memory, not as a farmer, but as a woman. History will ever know what she did. No one will ever learn the truth. Her story... her debriefing, will endure only in your heart. Everything she did, she did for her country. She sacrificed her life and honor for her native land. She was a real hero. She was a true patriot.

  • This episode makes me cry all the time :')

  • Hey, do you think that you could upload the background music from "Baby Cakes"?

  • Goosebumps every time.

    A beautiful piece of music.

  • Every time I see something brilliant in this show, I just say, ''That was just amazing,'' and leave it like that, however, this time I feel like I need to express who amazing this sequence in the show is; because this is absolutely awesome, and this moment probably ranks up with my all-time favourite moments of the show, going up there with the At the Gala song, and the ending to Hearth's Warming Eve. This episode and Hearth's Warming Eve have been the best episodes in season 2 so far IMO :D

  • Wow, this is truly wonderful!

    Thanks for uploading!

  • Danny Elfman has met his match.

  • 2:43 -

    "If we hold on together,

I know our dreams will never die.

Dreams see us through to forever,

    Where clouds roll by,

    For you and I."

  • SHES SO CUTE AS A FILLY!!

  • OMG FINALLY FINALLY!

  • What about the rest of Equestria?

  • Goes right into my heart! Ad stayes there. <3

  • And to think they do this every week. The people who do music for this show are incredible. Like seriously.

You never really think about it while watching the show.

  • @snowmanninja2

    Not people.

    Person.

  • And that's how Ponyville was made!

  • I get chills in the end :3

  • At the end of the video I was just as speechless as all the fillies listening to Granny Smith's story :)

  • The music in this show is fantastic! It is enjoyable to listen to and it blends extremely well with the events and scenes.

  • This music kind of reminds me of the first land before time.

  • Oh man, roughly the last 20 seconds, from about 4:15 to 4:34, was probably my favorite part.

The music was simply just so powerful and emotional. I was literally on the verge of tears from the sheer beauty. And that doesn't happen to me often.

Well done, William Anderson, simply just, well done, creating this amazing music.

And thanks to infinitydash as well, for uploading a very convenient video of this amazing music. Cheers to the both of you :D

  • I swear to Celestia, I SWEAR,

cold chills ran down spine at 4:16

  • I love this music. After I watched the episode I just couldn't wait for someone to upload it here. I knew you were going to do it infinitydash! You're best pony EVER. =)

  • Oh man i teared up because of the amazingness U w U

  • 1:34. Look to the left.

"Apple trees don't grow overnight", eh?

  • Ohmy, thank you so much for posting this vid without the voices! I just love the music in this part. The voices may not be completely gone, but for me it's fine :D

  • This scene never ceases to amaze me. We've spent nearly 1 and a half seasons with Granny Smith only as a comic relief... and then this. Really brilliant scene.

  • can you tell me where you got the itunes rip please ;__;

  • 4:17 is my favorite part

  • Literally, I cried. I cry each time. Like eyes watering, sniffing, so touched. Old people RULE!!!

  • Made me cry...

  • That music was more beautiful than "Twilight's Lullaby" from "Boast Busters".

  • That camera movement at 1:12 was cool.

  • Sniff beautiful

  • The end makes me cry all the time. I can't help myself! HAHA

  • Mmm Magnificent... well done...!

  • @foxskywalker64 If you're referring to the one I think you're referring to, look up the Summer Sun Celebration scene from Twilight's story in episode 23. That music has been used many times.

  • Truly powerful music

  • 1:34 - 1:47 best bit <3

  • Oh, thanks so much for this. <3

I actually took a break from watching the episode only to listen to the background music of this scene several times. We just need an orchestra to play this. William Anderson is a genius. :D

  • at the end of the story, i applauded with the other fillies a little, dose that sound weird?

  • I simply LOVE the melody that is used throughout the whole song. It's so calming and beautiful.

I know that at the end I was actually tearing up.

  • Does 1:04 sound like The Land Before Time to anyone else?

  • @andyk10013 I thought I was the only one. Brohoof :D

  • @andyk10013 Yeah, definitely some Don Bluth channeling goin on here.

  • Yes! Thank you so much for ripping this, I've been waiting for this

  • This song makes me cry manly tears every time I hear it. And I have nothing to be ashamed about.

  • I haven't noticed this until now, but this song is so touching! Just plain beautiful. Couldn't be any better and matches this part so perfectly! Wonderful.

  • Can you Do the BGM where rainbow dash is flying away from pinkie pie and pinkie pie is hoping after her Slowley

  • The music fitted the story perfectly, the end, where the story ends, and the music builds up like that, realising she created ponyville, all the faces of amazment, faces EXACTLY like mine...this gave me chills I never felt before.

  • YES.

  • One of the several reasons why FiM deserves to be so popular.

  • @F1NJP Um it is popular, all over the world. O_O

  • what other show has such amazing music? name one.

  • @aman692 I don't know...Batman the animated series had some pretty good music.

And it's an awesome show as well. As is this one. X3

  • @aman692 If I recall, Codename: Kids Next Door had some really excellent music.

  • @aman692 Avatar: TLA.

  • @aman692 Batman: The Animated Series had a kick-ass score.

Soul Eater also had a great soundtrack.

    I named two.

  • @GarlicPudding Ooh! Now name some more! :D

  • @aman692 Old (I mean REAL old) spongebob episodes had a good soundtrack,

And, Doctor Who has a great soundtrack.

HOWEVER, These are two of the greatest shows on their respectible networks, My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic is brilliant if it is able to keep up with these large budget shows, and sometimes, overtake them.

  • @aman692 Avatar: The Last Airbender.

  • @aman692 Stop bashing on other shows and trying to proof it is better than everything else. Just enjoy it and welcome new fans, as with such an additude you are only making a wall.

  • @dundeecake i never said this show had the best music ever. i gave my opinion. and many people gave me shows with great music so saying that im "bashing" every other show, gets you nowhere. you obviously don't know what you're talking about

  • You say 'name one' and you claim you are not acting aggressive towards people? You could've easily said you just love the music instead of involving 'other cartoons'. I do know what I talk about because I am a cartoon-enthusiast (why so aggressive again?). I for one can say 'animals of farthingwoods' has beautiful music.

  • @aman692 Puella Magi Madoka Magica

  • @aman692 Trigun. FLCL. FMA: Brotherhood

I love MLP, like, a lot, but it's BGM isn't like HUGELY amazing. It's good.

  • @aman692 Spongebob,Dragonball Z,Adventure Time,Regular Show

  • @aman692 Animaniacs. Pokemon. Tiny Toons. Avatar.

    Shall I go on?

  • @aman692 The BGMs for MLP surely is good, but there are definitely shows with better music. Toradora, Hana Kimi, and Code Geass are a few examples. Besides, there are different kinds of BGMs to fit what kind of show it is.

  • @aman692 Doctor Who

  • @aman692 batman: the animated batman adventures of batman the batman

  • This episode makes me ಥ‿ಥ every single time.

  • Comment removed

  • really well done with all the music fitting perfectly very well done

  • *manly tear being shed*

  • Awesome! I especially love the music at the end of the story :')

  • I thought her show and tell saved this episode, also I did notice how good the music was at the time. Thanks for this!

And why Zap-Apple jam, and not just Zapple jam?

  • @ScottishAtheist What do you mean saved? I think it was already very good the whole way through -.-

  • @DaKatphish I don't know. I just remember thinking at the time I'd have loved if the entire episode had been the founding of Ponyville.

Maybe bookmarked with the show and tell for an excuse.

  • The Music makes the Story 120% cooler.

  • Good job

  • @foxskywalker64: That's the "Canterlot/Princess Celestia" theme/fanfare that William Anderson uses whenever one of those two subjects is a focus of the scene. He has themes for other things too, like Nightmare Moon/Luna, chaos/disorder, and friendship reports, to name a few.

  • Wait a second, did I just hear one of the fanfares from Hearth's Warming Eve?

  • @foxskywalker64 It's highly likely, I noticed the reuse of the Canterlot fanfare too. Music is good anyways, so I don't see a problem with them reusing bits of it in different episodes.
