I finally got the diamond select car myself! Now I know what you meant. Yes this car was a great build, and I look forward to detailing the 1:15th scale! it really is a nice car all around!
i have the part 2, 2015 conversion . i have put in the flyying lights ,some green l.e.d's it was a bit of a squeeze. i have the techincal knowhow of someone from 1955 . i tried using a usb from my computer to control and power it all but having problems ( we dont have usb in 1955 hahaha ) . a full respray , fine details throughout . i have some parts made from epoxy putty ( including a scale but not yet painted hoverboard ) .
i love that model, maybe you should try an aoshima one or an amt one, both are from the same molds, i would love to see another theme park replica kit, its awesome
When I built the car , the photos on this small shoot was of the car at the orando park. The model was to be made to resemble the car in the park. There are some differences, I know. But commission is commission.
Yes I do. This one here wasn't based completely on the film, as you might see. The circuits and the exterior rear frame of my model was to replicate this. Universal Studioes , which challenged me as well as hired me to build this for the park store. When I was finished I took the DeLorean back to the store and placed on display. It had increased the sales of the polar lights kit until I sold it in Dec'07.
No joke! Universal Studioes Orlando- Store mgr Randy and the park mgr)forget his name(
The car you referenced IS a screen used car, it was used for about 90 seconds or so in BTTF 3, and in the ride for the final stunt.
It has been dubbed by fans as the Oxnard car, as that is the location it's scenes were filmed.
It has been heavily modified over the years, obviously

The pods were suposed to be olive drab, in the park, the pods are white. Again, some differences are evident. Not true. Still.. a nice rendition.
