I figured this one out: For a two input Nand gate, one input hooked to power, one input wired by a resistor to the output. This second input hooked into a capacitor. And the output hooked to an LED, which itself is hooked to another capacitor. Varying the capacitors and resistors will vary the frequency of the oscillations. No transistors needed for my use.
