@pockyoilic I really don't have a reply to your question, I just have a question myself about getting accepted to Korea University. I know there is an interview process and I was just wondering if it is over the phone or if you have to actually go to Korea for the interview.
Can you room with Koreans? I want to learn Korean and I feel that if I have all foreign roommates then I won't get the chance to speak it all that much....If you don't mind answering some of these questions:How long were you there for? How was the Korean class? Did you make many korean friends or just foreigners? How much is it a year altogether (school, board, food, transporation, etc)? Feel free to write down whatever you think I should know cause I am really interested in KU...thanks ^^
Is CJ International House part of the KU campus or did you have to go and rent it on your own? Also, is there air-conditioning in all the rooms? It looks like a great place to stay.
Also, CJ International House is MUCH better than the other dorms and also much better than most apartments in the area. And breakfasts (for 4,500W each are buffets with great Western breakfast food) Nicest place i'll ever live in as a student. The only downside really is the gender thing. No persons of opposite gender on your floor. but.. i think it's an acceptable trade-off.
Hi, just got accepted (a coule of hours ago) to go as an exchange student for the spring term 2010! CJ looks like a nice dorm! are all the rooms, like in your video - or does standard vary between rooms/floors? what should I opt for?
For American students thinking of studying abroad at Korea U., i recommend going straight through K.U. if your university will allow you to take a semester leave. This way, you will avoid paying your own tuition while you study abroad at a much cheaper school. For me, it's worth it, but i guess if you go to a state school it may not be worth the effort.
GPA requirements for int'l students are very low. The school is eager to increase foreign student body. Also, the tuition is about $3k a semester, far cheaper than the $50k a year i'm paying at Georgetown.
A girl who lived in Korea for 14 months because her dad was stationed in Seoul who is also in my Chinese class told me that ALL three major schools, SNU, KU, and Yonsei are eager for more intl students.
This is also due to the fact that even though Korean colleges are almost on an equal footing with the US, Koreans are still going abroad. I know this to be true cause my school (FDU) is just flooded with Koreans.....not that its a problem or anything!!!!
Hey that's pretty cool. I'm interested in possibly applying for Korea University and I was visiting their site, but they didn't say anything about a required GPA and I was wondering if you knew??
thanks for the upload. i'll be in the cj ihouse this summer, in a double. but this gave me an idea of what to expect. thanks again! hope you're having a good time in korea
