Thx for the videos- history in regards to the hitler youth rarely delves into it. I dated a girl briefly back in the late 70s whose father had been in the hitler youth - very nice man who upon arriving in the U.S. went to college and on to medical school. He mentioned briefly once about being in the punzer division. I wish I had taken more interest as a youth to have asked him about his experiences. Great Videos!
My point was that I would like to have seen the psychological adjustments they had to undergo. @bowman2064 Yes, hunger was rampant in '45 all over Europe and those young men caught up in the East were taken as prisoners, most of whom didn't return at all. But it appears the documentary had a rather good lot of these Hitler Youth to interview to get an impression of the various points of view 55 or so years later (documentary made in 2001 or earlier).

Mr. Knopp was born in '48 and obviously was or is absorbed by what these young people learned and experienced. I am so keen to know I might try to locate him and write for more info.
