@yabba234 I don't know if you noticed but Jim was hanging around since episode 1,he's a sort of backup cameraman and he went with the support crew and filmed what the support crew did as well as most of episode 1 and 2.I think he traveled in Dave's 4X4.Claudio finished the journey ..he was with the guys all the way to NY.You can see him in this part playing the piano.
I know you'll never read this Ewan, but you have inspired me. I can't promise I'll be making a trip around the world on a bike haha, but a friend and I have begun planning a trip to Europe, after he told me to look into this series. You've also inspired me to look into getting into riding motorcycles haha. Most importantly though, you've inspired me to open my eyes to the world around me.
love charley's wide eyes. but finally you can see the both of them are tired after all the kilometres....they're just looking like two pensioneered granddads sitting in their wheelchairs on their old-age residence near the lake, talking about past times and smoking their pipes (they could use their snuff right now).
actually, this show *has* inspired me...sorter...i want to drive from melbourne to darwin and back. for those not acquanted with australia, its straight up and down, about 8-10 days of driving =)
ok it came across wrong, a Harley is purely designed to get down long stretches of roads over America in comfort and ease (heated seats big screens etc) and yes the BMW could but ultimately its a long distance off road bike, both would eat up miles but in a different way.
@barnettmetal harley's are made only for american and some european roads......but bmw's are made for roads everywhere else. thats why you see desert rally bikers and all riding bmws not harleys
Perhaps you should check out Pete and Kay Forwood - they've been round the world several times on their HD. They've ridden through virtually EVERY country in the world, including some of the same roads in Siberia and Mongolia. More than 400,000 miles on the same bike.

19,000 miles, and you're saying that the BMW can't eat up the miles like a Harley could.
