the moore/fiennes film is more immediate but this one is more deep and loyal to the written version. alot of these criticisms of religion are ignored by the more recent version. The scene at Speaker's Corner is powerful. but the atheist speaker has the facial birthmark, which, in the book, is on the son the detective. dont really get that. the original is better.

Don't you think that Peter Cushing and Ralph Fiennes look alike? The same melancholic smile, I guess...

I think the Julianne Moore and Ralph Fiennes version is better, more touching than this. And Julianne has a wonderful voice <3

I love Debora Kerr , I haven't seen her interpretation. I should see this too .
