Airfoil is really not required at these low speeds and low wing Reynolds number. Mostly the inertia of the air that "floats" the plane. So a flat slab wing works fine. I used to put a crease in the wing just to make more rigid. But try thin bamboo cooking squeres (like in sish-ka-bob) to stiffen the wing at very light weight. Experiment!! That's what is great about these simple airplanes that you can build in an eveing!
I was wondering about extending the antenna, good idea. I put Aero Ace gear in my Foam Jet II, glider built from foam plate and meat tray. I have a short video on YouTube under youbub33. Bill Kuhl
I always add another 12 inches of ine copper wire to extend the tiny aero ace receiver original short antenna. This seems to extend the range so that I can easily fly these little airplanes out at least 50 yards. This is plenty of range for great flying fun. Remeber the first rule of RC flying: if you can't SEE it you can't FLY it (heh-heh!).
I just sketch up the parts on paper to the size I wawnt, then use the paper template to cut out the foam. add tape fro reennfforcement, stick on the motors and Rx, move the battery around while glide testing. Then paint and fly! Foam is so cheap just experiment a bit!!
do you add air foil to any of these planes

That flies really nice, any range problems?

i put my parts from the msr with the exception of the motor, on a similar plane and it flies awesome, but id like to put it on this one!

how did u connect the two motors together
liloliver2007 2 years ago
@liloliver2007
The aero ace circuit board has the motors already connected. Just remove the electronics from Aero Ace, and put in the new airplane!
