I used to call this kind of icing 'fondant', but that can be confusing, as it isn't strictly speaking a classic fondant and that can also be a very soft icing for dipping. So I think the term 'roll-out icing' is probably the clearest, or just 'icing' for short, as it's pretty obvious what it is, don't you think? Thanks for the observation though. Best, Jane
