  • If you go right at Teahupoo you end up in Narnia

  • 2:10 for stand up paddling

  • wade goodall at the begining

  • if only i could live on the coast somewhere......

    being landlocked blowssssss

  • so im just learning to surf and stuff and i figured this would be a good place to start?

  • This calls for a blumpkin

  • i i did surfing once

i failed and got eaten by a shark :(

  • stop bitching about SUP's and surf. you just have to pewpewpew them off ur wave,

    same with dickdraggers.

  • @drock911d that was a good comment until you decided to burn on bodyboarders. Seriously, what's the point? They're going to be there no matter what. You can either go pussy mode on them and throw a hissy fit or you can just live with it because despite what you think, you steal just as many waves and talk just a much smack. Surfers have to learn to be less elitist.

  • i want a sandwich now

  • Im i blind or is that guy just happen to splatter in blood at 1:55 when he falls. I keep repeating it not sure if srs or what. At 360p

  • @pureefficient thats his board....

  • @pureefficient his board flips when it hits the water so you see the reverse side (red) - looks like a boogie board.

  • the king

  • SERIOUSLY please stop with the SUP hate i mean really it may be a little be easier

and a bit boring but if you think that surfing is hard, fun and thats it YOUR NOT TRUE SURFERS Surfing is Way more than a fucking sport you dicks its not about FUN or Proving that your better than others surfing is deep binding and Life changing, Surfing Is a way of life, SUP is a form of surfing, just like Kayak Surfing

Bodysurfing and Loads of others, SUP riders are not like little kids riding scooters

  • @LaughingWater2 Maybe if all the SUPs wern't poncing around calling proper surfing "prone" surfing and making out like they are doing something radical or innovative they might get a better reaction.

Though I agree with you that they deserve about as much respect as Kayak surfers lol.

  • @padaxes Oh well i didnt know about that but i do Just About every watersport from Kayak Surfing To Wakeboarding But Surfing Is the Best tbh even though i aint really good at it since i havent had much time to surf since i dont get many waves but i like SUPs because you can practice it all the time but yeah only idiots think SUP is innovative its Retro and Old skool

  • what happened to that body boarder

    fukin rompt

  • it looks to me its all the boogers that are getting thrown over the lip

  • i love watching walls of water turn into perfect gapeing barrels!

  • Wow, that trip over the falls at 1:06 looked pretty hairy. I wish we could have seen how Laird lined it up on the SUP to avoid going over himself.

  • i hate when the top comment is a response and then i have to look for the original comment...

  • @daltz25 "Control "F" @ The name of the commentee. Yippie kai yay!

  • @daltz25 Yeah that's the worst.

  • owwwww Lance Buckhart

  • Laird = Best

  • wow, that was something special. Pity the whole sequence from start of paddle in not captured

  • seems like falling in a wave like that would tear your limbs off...

  • compared to where i live, thats a tsunami.

  • I surfed second reef Pipe in the 70s and this place is insane. No way could you take off here with a stiff off shore breeze.

  • its all good guys. you got to get out there before you really know. any big waves are hardcore. i love these videos.

  • Where was this?

  • @FoRs4K3nNinja Teahupoo

    Its in the title :L

  • OMG !!that guy at 1:06 got fuuuukd uuuuup...

  • some music or even some sound would have been good

  • Surf Park...

  • lol @the guy innocently paddling and just gives up 1:58

  • i wouldn't go to that place!! that's scary!

  • S,U,P stand up paddle,and be proud,laird dropping in....eddie would go...........

  • looks like its a love/hate thing when it comes to SUP for many. I love both regular surfing and SUP. If the waves are small I go for the SUP, good enough for regular surfing and i do that. Don't see what the problem is. What i DO understand is sufers getting pissed if someone on a SUP disregards the lineup and catches all the waves further out. If ur on a paddle board just pick a break or peak further along the beach from the surfers, and everyone is happy and in the waves!

  • @frithjoftollaas Ding.Ding..Ding now there's someone with his head on his shoulders..... thanks bro and well said lllRESPECT !!!!!!!!!

  • 2.10 to skip to the SUP

  • Laird's awesome. He's a super nerd like Clark Kent or something.

  • Very good mariners bravo !

  • Laird makes it look so easy - coolest dude on the water. One wrong move...oh HELL no! A few right moves...oh HELL YEAH!!! :-D

  • how perfect can a wave get? seriously, not a drop out of place. i mean id still shit myself, but ya know, still perfect waves

  • LOL 1:09 the blue surfing board jumped out of no where

  • Herbie Fletcher towed Marin Potter into a bomb at outer reef Pipline way before Laird.....no disrespect to Laird as he has taken it to the ultimate level. Herbie was in a Zodiac I think.so the performance of the tow vehicles back then weren't optimal for xxl stuff.

  • 0:40 "geez, relax they're just waves.... HOLY FUCK LOOK AT THAT ONE!!!

  • 1:06 GET STOMPED

  • This POWER

  • show, thanks ;-)

  • such talent

  • laird on sup: 3:04

  • his frickin' hair is still dry

  • That was all time!

  • Looks like more of a bodysurfing wave.

  • BLAME LAIRD

  • 2 words: LANCE BURKHART

  • prone surfin is moribund??? prone surfing is the first type of surf man.....

  • @wagsk8 That would be a no, stand up was the original surf style. Prone surfing came way after stand up.

  • 1:10 hope that guy over the falls was alright.

  • Mother nature is so incredible and powerful.

  • What an amazing experience it must to be there in the water with those massive waves, all that energy, and then that stunning scenery in the background. I would love to see that before I die. Fewer people would be nice.

  • is surfing hard?

  • Comment removed

  • Wow. 1:34, a paddler got sucked up into the wave away from his board! He comes crashing down later.

  • i will write the obvious.....LAIRD IS IN. SANE..........thumbs up

  • hows the barry at 49 50 seconds good one bazza

  • 1.07 LOL

  • あほ!!

  • Good game.

  • Damn, that first barrel was fucking sick. It's fucking cool to see guys like Laird starting to SUP into these beasts instead of towing.

  • that is great

  • where is this place?

  • @janclomannai The polynesian islands

  • @janclomannai tahiti!

  • ( look in the top right 4 wave win)

  • LOL 1:09 look at the guy get PWNED

  • what's next...Laird da man

  • neat

  • man stupid boogey boards. learn to surf.!!!!!!!!!!

  • @dietpepsiggg exactly, none of this lying down shit!

  • ouch insane belting at 1:10 or thereabouts

  • jesus H, how would you like to get worked like that guy who went over the falls at 1:07 without even really "trying" to get into the wave. Commit, or don't... that's his lesson. Balls of steel to be out on days like these :)

  • Did that paddle in guy live?

  • look how vertical 1:36 is

  • how do u duck dive tht shit

  • @acdisboi u dont u just get pitched haha

  • 1:48 bodyboarder get WORKED

  • shoulda dropped in on him. Laird = the biggest sell out kook in the history of surfing.

  • @FreePercussion ya hes a sell out but surfs way better than you ever will

  • Comment removed

  • @FreePercussion you're calling Laird a kook?

  • @r3velationz I liked laird back in the 90s when he was experimenting with tow surfing and hanging with Paul Watson and the Sea Shepherd crew. But now with his incessant pimping of all things SUP-- seems homie is just a slave to attention. Laird has enough money to surf empty waves when he chooses. For those of us that don't -- I've seen two greedy stand up paddlers wreck whole line-up several times. Seen a loose SUP shoot by a little girl's head. Laird's at fault, a kook by association.

  • @FreePercussion do you even know what a kook is? its someone who thinks he's a surfer/ skater but there not. and i'm pretty sure Laird Hamilton surfs.

  • The thing i find absolutely amazing is when you see the surfer go into the foam and you think... wow he must've fallen then you see them break back out of it... its so amazing to watch that :D

  • It's cool i did my own VO

  • haha 1:37 is just like weee!

  • This is beautiful!!!

  • lol shit this must be hard to surf every other one some guy fuckin dies

  • =O shit dude ive seen his tow in wave here but that was just crazy i dont think i could surf for a thousand years and ever be able to paddle into a wave like that. That is outstanding.

  • Fuck yeah =)

  • thats insane!!!

  • I used to have respect for Laird, but he is really lame. It takes way more guts to charge 15 - 20 foot, Mavericks or Ocean Beach. And have u ever seen a video of Laird when he's actually paddling Mavericks. Im not saying that towing 20 foot waves is easy or isn't scary, Laird just isn't the best though, Greg Long, Mike Parsons, Grant Baker, Peter Mel, Anthony Taschnick, all have more balls. Laird would actually make me proud if he paddled a wave every once in a while.

  • @liv2surfnscate Mavericks doesn't even compare to Teahupoo, it's not even in the same league

  • @byronmatthews sure, its a different kind of wave, but they both have killed a person, sooo mavericks does completely compare. R.I.P mark Foo

  • @liv2surfnscate I know a lot of other breaks that have killed surfers, doesn't mean they compare. I'm not trying to belittle your spot or anything, clearly Mavericks is a critical spot. But the way Teahupoo breaks is like nothing else, that wave pitches a lip that's practically vertical and over shallow reef. Mavericks is a deep water break and besides, Mark Foo hit his head on his own board, more of a freak accident.

  • @byronmatthews i agree but thats not how he died he got held under and his leash got caught on some rocks

    but i still agree

  • @byronmatthews Actually it is said he got trapped by his leach underwater. 2 guys dropped after him and guy 1 (don't recall names) said he felt guy 2 trying to reach to the surface when he was doing it too, when actually guy 2 was already at the surface, so that guy guy 1 felt was probably Mark Foo.

  • @byronmatthews it kind of is, different waves, equally as deadly and gnarly

  • @aaaddddbbb

have you ever seen Teahupoo? It makes Pipeline look like a kiddy pool. Paddling into one makes you a fricken legend in my book.

  • @liv2surfnscate you made yourself sound like an idiot.

  • balls of steel ... no question

  • Anyone who thinks SUP's suck come say it to my face and I'll rip your head off cause my upper body strength has doubled since I started it. GFYourselfs losers

  • @b0rn2BFail the only thing that sucks about SUP is you guys sit way outside and take every fucking wave, which i guess don't suck if your the one riding SUP.

  • @808beachbound - Actually Laird Hamiltion has been credited with co-inventing tow-in surfing. Whether that is disputed or not and by whom, is another story.

  • 1:07 that guy probably died. Being one with the lip over 4-5ft of water. Yup that dude died.

  • @youlosez

    RIP that guy

  • really bull crap that hard to belive but im kinda with ya

  • SUPs do suck.

But Laird isn't out there being a kook and snaking. Hes an extremeley talented water man.

  • fuck sups!.......

  • lairds a mad man

  • wow 1:10 ish a bodyboard shoots out bodyboardin those lol

  • hhhahahaha kook booger 1:53

  • 1:52 Best Moment Ever!

  • Comment removed

  • laird obviously was drinking mtn dew

  • Whats he doing out there on a SUP , dangerous for everyone else. Laird gets it wrong !

  • Oh, um, yah. He virtually invented tow-in, revitalized surfing with SUP, most creative and innovative waterman in fifty years. Fondue, your job is to shut the hell up and watch as surfing gets its first breath of fresh air in decades.

Oh, wait; you're probably one of those no-growth/I-fear-change types. Dude, stand up and evolve. Prone surfing has been moribund for years.

  • Google Tom Lowe , Laird Hamilton and injury. Oh and try and stay up to date.

  • hah ya thats y in southern california, were i surf, SUPs have to go farther away from surfers and spongers, they have to go were its less than 1/2 as big as were we go. id rather have spongers in the lineup than SUPs because u can run over a 2 1/2 square of foam, but u cant run over a 10 ft board with a paddle!

  • @betteryeti and who are you sponsered by then?....

  • @betteryeti just by calling it prone surfing you let all of us know that you are a true barney SUP kook....SUP is so gay I can't even put it into words. I've surfed all my life, grew up on Oahu and I tried SUP for the first time the other day and I couldn't believe how boring it was...like, this is it? Look how much more barreled the guy on the first wave gets than Laird...now do you think Laird wants to get really barreled? Or does he want to attract attention by SUP'ing in Tahiti?

  • @betteryeti dave kalama not laird brought back paddle baording wasnt his invention whatsoever he just released a line of boards.

  • @betteryeti Well said brother; you supremely echo my sentiments as well.

  • @betteryeti you are so right!Laird Hamilton is a surfers surfer he has literally done it all! I dont think there is any kind of surfing he hasnt done from comp to big wave to SUP it doesn't matter hes one of the best there is!

  • @betteryeti Oh dear. there's nothing innovative about SUP, its one of the oldest forms of surfing its been around since the start. Laird IS innovative and if he wants to do some retro SUP surfing all power to him, I just wish he hadn't unleashed this plague of idiots like you on the rest of us.

  • @padaxes "Laird IS innovative and if he wants to do some retro SUP surfing" you just agreed with the "idiot" your trying to dispute.

  • @mrhyde6 No I didn't , grow a brain.

  • @padaxes I agree man, here in Brazil is full of SUP at sea and not everyone knows what they are doing ...

  • @padaxes ya...that's why he said revitalized.... he's not an idiot. don't go hating man

  • @gn8771 Laird is not an idiot , hes a legend. Its all the SUP wannabees in the surf i'm hating they are pathetic, going on about prone surfing and claiming they are the next level of evolution in the sport.

  • @padaxes i'm saying betteryeti isn't an idiot. in fact no one is an idiot here...pointless argument haha

  • @padaxes As there is nothing innovative about surfing since it's is the oldest form of wave ridding done by the ancient hawaiians. Well I guess the oldest form of wave ridding was outriggers and bodyboarding since the ancient hawaiians bodyboarded before they surfed.

  • @superchanneljim that makes no sense what so ever.

  • @padaxes LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • amazing
