Many Senators are criminals that the only thing they do is to serve the Lobbiest/Cartel and the big corporations. I tried several times to contact senators for a good reason by e-mail, regular mail, telephone and everytime there was some one specially paid to block the contact and give stupid lip service, nowander the LOBBIEST HAVE THEM IN THEIR POCKET. The 300Million americans are to obey and pay taxes. When politicians is faced about sensitive issues by a concerned citizen they run like rats.

While your intentions may be pure, this information can be very misleading. I agree with Kakuiguy. FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: You have to network! It's all about who you know or who know's you. As a single Father, I've tried it from over 50 different angles for a political/military issue that affects my children. The staff assistants and legislative aides will do EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to manipulate you into being satisfied with watered down results and not reaching your Senator Directly! Sorry!!!

Activism is great. But be aware that you have to network in many different ways now. Just calling doesn't do it anymore.
