@playse94 Eh... I think while he might have some medical knowledge, he wouldn't have had a PhD in medicine... So he was most likely just using the fact he has mutiple PhD and is a doctor in other subjects to try and get out of not being allowed to fly.

I love how Gideon (sorry if I spelled that wrong) corrects Hotch on what to call reid because to me it makes him seem like the father of the whole group. I know some people may not like Gideon, but I think he's amazing. And well as for reid... Well he's just the best -3

@thistar92 I believe this is the pilot. I like seeing a show like 4 or 5 seasons in  and then seeing the pilot again because character nuances havent been established. Like Ried has to think a minute on the Samuel Becket quote, hotch calling Ried SSA instead of Dr. (even though thats explained later) Morgan not being Morgan ECT

@insert8name5here No worries. and the Degree is just called a doctorate. Ive noticed in more recent seasons no one asks his age anymore though. He used to spout what he knows and what hes learned and how many PHDs he has and they stare balnkly and ask "How old ARE you" (and being Reid he answers hee!)

Well, the writers are the ones that have Spence constantly spouting statistics and facts. . .so in a way they're joking about themselves when they acknowledge it in the script. Not that they did that on purpose, it's just the way I see it.

Reid asked Hotch why he does that. He said it was because he didn't like how people treated him like a kid and he wants to make sure Reid is shown respect. You notice how in so many episodes they DO introduce every one else as either 'Agent' or 'Special Agent', but Reid is almost always 'Dr Reid'.
