I hope the whole world know about this. shame on you thai! I hope the human right and UN will go in and help these Akha people. May heaven see and help these human being. Peace
But who is the King? What gives him the right to own everything above any other human being? Internation law on indigenous rights is that if the people there farmed it first, if they are the people there, then it belongs to them. The King of Thailand was not there. The Akhas were there, the Lisu, the Lahu for many years before the Thais even got into the region, but suddenly it is theirs, to be taken and occupied by them.
If the person has paid tax on the land for 10 years they can apply for title to it(a certain amount of land for each family member), but there is no guarantee. The government may evict people from land they have paid taxes on but not land they have title to(deeds). Hill tribes and many refugees are allowed to live in rural mountainous areas by the King and government. If these Akha are being evicted there is a reason. I just hope that it serves the greater good..
At one point Land within the Thai border belongs to the King. Much of the land has been "granted title" by the King and can be bought and sold with all rights to individuals. Other unoccupied land(not reserved for other purpose such as a national park) can be "squatted on" legally if the individual pays taxes for the land they are using..continued
Native peoples first! Governments had no rights to claim land of other ethnic group to be theirs!

Its call land theft. Its called thousands of Acres of Pine tree farms.
When the Akha were there the forest was great and diversified. The army kept moving them, and then planting pine.
