  • You must be a virgo. Nice video though it helped.

  • You are wise beyond your years. Thanks for this video.

  • Your bottomless idealism tempts me greatly to respond with something cynical and snide, but at the same time, I truly believe in the principles you define in these videos.

I am often overwhelmed with a pessimistic or misanthropic point of view that says, "People don't care. They're not going to change. They will continue to be selfish and totally lacking in compassion for their fellow man."

But your videos demonstrate the ideals that I truly hold in my heart and I hope that others feel th same

  • Very nice, you are so sweet! I love watching your videos.

  • Could you do one about honesty? You don't seem like a liar, so it might end up making you feel too "preachy", but I think it could help people (me) a lot. Your point of view is very eye opening.

  • When I saw the title first appear on the screen, I'll confess I was worried that this video would degenerate into a simplistic journey of platitudes, designed along the lines of "why can't you be more like me?" :)

Fortunately, my fears were unfounded. You come off here thoughtful and charming, and in a society where genuine human ethics have been devalued and replaced by the worship of money, sex and power, your message here is all too rare.

    Well done.

    Nice glasses too. :)

  • I think your fish is dead

  • I like the idea behind this, I hope people learn this, you can disagree without name calling, and have debates. I have been learning to to show kindness and awareness in all of my actions if possible, but at the same time remaining true to who I am. Being aware of your actions and the effects they cause is a great message!

  • I have to say that it indeed sounds optimistic.

I think I understand fully what you mean and it drives me mad almost on a daily basis, believe it or not.

Problem is that things like personal development and education are not in the books of people that act like jerks and total as holes.

They are busy running away from their feelings and meanwhile spend their day doing the utmost to make anybody s live a living hell as most as possible in any way they can think off.

  • Yeah, I dunno, I really tend to like some pretty sarcastic folks. Perhaps they can be impolite about it, but would you rather never know in the first place? Maybe you don't turn to them first for support, but can you really afford to turn down useful information?

  • I like your Optimism, MJ. Don't ever lose that. Aside from the fact that you are young and cute, that really comes through in your videos. Even if we are talking about trivial things, your positive attitude in eliciting response is nice. Ah yes, introspection. Sometimes I can be a jerk, a nice mirror moment now and then can give me the kind of vision necessary to tone that crap down! At least that was my interpretation. Tolerance, again, people :)

  • Young, cute, and thoughtful I should add. :)

  • Your a pleasure to watch and listen to. Your english and vocabulary is superb.

  • cool series Ms MJ, i see you put your hair back for this one, i guess the hair cut has gotten to you lol

  • You are absolutely gorgeous and have a intelligent outlook on life, keep up the vids ; )

  • why do you have to be so sappy?

  • Its what she does. Thank dog someone has a well-intentioned inspiring attitude now and then. If it was up to you, would you perform so well on that count? Perhaps your question serves as your answer. Take your Scooby treat and feel satisfied, my friend TheMechaLord, MJ is cool!! You're lucky she shares well with others.

  • I like the music you chose!

  • Great vid M.J.

  • Good advice. If there's anything people need I think it's most definitely introspection. I see so many people act impulsively or over time accumulate a certain impression then when they're upset with themselves they can't realize why. One of the best things you can do for yourself is look critically at what you've done, who's wronged you, or where you felt things went wrong and assess it from all angles. Sometimes you find you're absorbing other people's problems, it can be quite relieving.

  • I think basically what I mean is, be your own therapist/mind doctor!

  • why do people have to reinvent the wheel all the time all over again.

Everybody thinks their thoughts are sooo unique.

    Well they're not.

    Read "Discourses" by Epictetus.

That's all u'll ever need to know pertaining to the "art of life".

  • this video was ok MelissaJenna, but next time try falling down! that would be awesome!

  • Thank you for good thoughts, MJ. A smart person learns from their mistakes; a wise person learns from others' also.

  • melissa please go to graduate school. you are so smart and talented, and i really think grad school will help expand upon your potential, especially a leading graduate school -- i think you will like working with the best minds, because you have one. there are many fellowships, scholarships, etc... that should help with finances if that is a problem.

  • what a mean spirited comment.

  • I see the positive intent, and I take it as a compliment. :)

  • Great vid, but I personally like your "big hair" as you call it :P

  • I love these videos, because I think they're really helpful. The one on politeness has already affected the way I interact with people on a daily basis, and now this one will, too!

  • I have no problem with introspection. Before I do anything I ask myself what a real person would do.

I've modeled myself completely off a guy I know. If I could be anybody else in the world I would be him.

  • Interesting video. The music? :) "deep thoughts with jack handy." he he

  • hello MJ

  • but.... I like the cat videos.... so is it atleast 82% cat videos? I can accept not 100% but come on lets be realistic

  • Really love this series. I hope you keep doing videos like this. I really enjoy hearing your thoughts and ideas about the world. Thanks for putting this up.

  • Thanks MJ! Missed yeah.

  • Melissa, I love this series. It's great to see you again.

I can definitely be one of those people who gets too angry too fast. I just need to learn to calm down, re evaluate and breathe. <3

  • Great video again MJ! This principle's are great

  • wonder if rush or glenn will take this advice

  • You are absolutely right!!

Critism is a very difficult thing. To judge other is easy but to take a look into the mirror is a very tough thing...but it is very important .

  • You are so right, MJ. Whenever I feel myself getting more negative, it comes from an unconscious reflection on how I feel about myself at that moment. Is suspect negative people feel negative about themselves and to express that, they act the way they do, and it becomes a habit.

Loved your video on politeness too. It are the little things that makes everyday life better, such as being polite to one another. Thanks for reminding us!

  • Thanks for the advice. Although these seem like common subjects thanks for pointing them out because I guess we all do it but it must be reminded to us once in a while. I hope alot more of us would use these tips and maybe we wont be so negative.
