Do they have something like the top-loader that can play both SNES games and Super Famicom games? I mean I guess something such as the Retro Duo would, but I want something high quality. I don't really want to go in my SNES to disable some chip or whatever.
I got the european version of this game and it's not a language lesson type of game, in the european version you must collect the hearts(or whatever comes down) that Olive throws before they end up drowning in the water. Meanwhile you needed to evade Brutus from stomping your ass. It was quite addicting but so very different from the version you are showing Luke.
@VideoGamePervert The European version is basically the same game as it was released in Japan and the US (simply "Popeye"). This game was a Japan-only version that was made to teach English words.
I always thought that it was called "ladybug" :S Well, I sure learned something new today! ^^ I think I got this one of the pirates, never had a clue on what I was supposed to spell! XD
I think there was some sort of english version for this as well, other than the "popeye"-game. Cause I remember playing the ship-level and actually finishing it somehow!
What odd animal choices lol. You would think it would be easy stuff like Mouse, Cat, Dog, etc for what seems to be a beginer teaching game. Especially what the hell is up with Ladybird :D.
thats pretty cool,it seems it teaches japanese too cuz you have to find out what the japanese word is,so its a win win situation for people that want to learn english and japanese

You're right, that sound does get annoying pretty quickly.
The title music reminds me of DKJR Math.
Brutus is running around like he's on crack or something! :P

This is too hard for someone like me who can't read Japanese. I would just play trail and error with each letter. LOL

Man, did they use the Donkey Kong API for this game or what?

LOL WTF SD Popeye.
The graphics look similar to the atari 5200 popeye game. I think the levels are exactly the same even.

I guess Popeye was popular in Japan? :P
Looks interesting, I wouldn't know where to start though, far too advanced for me, I don't know the first thing about Japanese.
