I can't remember where Bob is buried; that was such a sad day. I can ask Fito when he gets back off the road. We still jam with friends every week or so when he is in town. Bob was such a kind, good-hearted person and my close friend. He would share anything he had with others, so when he needed a stereo amp, gave him mine for his huge collection of 78 R.P.M. records. (From Jeff Austin Addison)

Bob Hite was my friend's (Mick) dad and they both died the same way -- Speedball - for those who don't know it is a mix of heroin and speed. Bob Hite has 2 remaining sons and one daughter. This song has a message but you got to listen.
Where are the two sons and daughter? I understand Bob Hite had one of the best record collections in existence and I have wondered for years what happned to it. Possibly one of them inherited it. Thanks for any information. Ben Rogers
Yes Ben you are right about the record collection. I remember seeing it extend three or four rows in the house from on wall to the other. I am uncertain what had happen to the collection. I do know that one of the grandkids is getting a pretty extended collection of all the recording masters.
Ben, from what I know is there was three sons and one daughter. Last I heard one son lived in Long Beach Ca. and the other lives in Van Nuys, Ca. the daughter lives somewhere in Ca. dont know exactly where. And yes he did have an extensive Album collection. I am uncertain of what happen to it.
@snakerog heard the same, was highly touted as possibly the best collection of early blues recodings ever, though i hate to say, legend is almost always not the truth..i hope i am wrong..
I know how Bob died. Some jerk offered him 2 lines of white powder Bob thought was coke; it was a leathel dose of China White Heroine. No one else knew what happened during that break at The Palimino Club. He got really sick, he didn't know why either. The rat who did it left. The roadies took him to Fito's house, next door to my house. We tried to revive him for 22 minutes until the paramedics finally arrived. By then Bob(The Bear) Hite was dead. He was my friend since 1967. Jeff Austin Addison
@JeffSophia1 Jeff, I've been a Heat fan since I am not sure when. I remember a friend of mine sending me a newspaper clipping about the Bear's death. Where is Bob Hite buried? It seems to be a secret. I cannot find any info on the net. Don't forget to boogie. I saw the Heat twice, both times in Denver, CO. One time was at the Denver Coliseum, and one time at some nightclub on Colfax Avenue. The Heat was sort of my connection to the 60s and the transition from that decade to the 70s.
@JeffSophia1 I met Joey thru Fito in 1980. We were friends for 10 years, he played in my bands and I paid him double to work on the buildings I managed. (I also have a Broker lic.36 yrs. besides being a musician of 45 years). One day, he came over to my house and demanded I go score some coke for him at a hot spot in Venice. I wouldn't risk it (I never sold drugs anyway) and he has not spoken to me since. Why do you ask? (from Jeff Ausitn Addison.)

all hail Blind Owl and Bear and, of course, hell raising...this is a party hearty ditty & about 500,000 of us thought it facetiously sung. this is a seconal song, as all self respecting downer freaks always ragged on speed freaks...but reality is relative.
this should be shoved up the media's butt of how long it's been around and they are just realizing the the problem. I'm 53 and in the late60's and 70's we did it ;but usually we had a chemistry major do it. it wasn't this nazi-meth crap.

This song ushered in a self initiated fight
by people (not authorities) against the rampant use of 'crank' which was destroying folks pretty fast.
It didnt work, but soon most were either dead or in the jails.
It was a very loved song in its day.
