For me the only thing good about ToS2 was the decent animation and voice acting. The battle system was horrible and too easy, even on mania mode with 1/2 exp. Worst of all was the lack of strategy and the fail A.I. =/

@sonic26000 The battle system was by no means bad, you just didn't like it and say it was bad entirely based on your preference. The second game had good original characters and improvements to the returning characters, fairly good VA (heard better but it was still good) a much better story, and it and Innocence are the only 3D Tales of games to have aerial Arte's, which means it's helping to pave the way for future Tales of games. and there's alot of strategy if you play as Marta.

More like I was disappointed in Dotnw's lack of game play. I was hoping for tons of little side quests (Devil arms etc) costumes, cut scenes, cameos and longer storyline in general... oh well I guess i'll wait for the new tales' game that comes out sometime next year for the wii lol.

The story in DotNW wasn't much shoter than the original Symphonia's and Marta and Emil were much better characters than the original ToS cast.

The ToS cast have very basic personalities that you're gonna see better of in most decent RPG's. And the story made like no sense and Mithos was pretty stupid and a terrible villain.

Both were fun games. Unique in their own ways. Where ToS1 excelled at challenge (cuz of no free run), storyline (You had to understand most of it or else you were left out), and just overall longer gameplay (From the puzzles in dungeons, to free roam, to side quests, to costumes etc)

It's not a sequal. In a japanese interview, one of the men daveloping the game said "It is NOT a direct sequal, but a spin-off sequal. so it is NOT Tales of Symphonia 2" and i stand by his words.

Okay, okay. It's not a sequal, to me I think it is because it still carries on the history and events of the first one, it even contain the characters. But enough of it, its a great game and story, thats all that matters.

That always concerned me.

Tales of Symphonia: "Dawn of the New World" has to be my favourite or one of my favourite games of all time, I always love stories like that it has everything! Comedy, Romance, Action, Supernatural and a great level of seriousness.

I love Marta's acts towards Emil as well, expecially the flirting, that was just helarious.

The thing that bugged me though was I knew Kratos wasnt the really loveable type, but he never really showed much acctual love to Lloyd, exept from his caring actions. And Lloyd never adress' him as Dad expet in "DotNW" which Emil & Marta usually think it's Dirk he means.

I didn't like the Abyss anime much, i stopped watching at episode 7.

Vesperia (in my opinion) has terrible character designs (each with a cliche, over-used Personality we've seen a ton of times before) the storyline is nothing above average (i've heard from a reliable source that it really isn't anything special) too much attention to graphics while ignoring more important elements, slowed-down and weakened battle system making level matter more than skill.

Annoying secret missions that for gamers who want to do everything (like myself) will take all the fun out of boss battles because you're spending the entire fight trying to com plete the secret missions.

Overly difficult mini-games that are hard just for the sake of being hard.

And I know everything about Symphonia 2, or as you refer to it DotNW. I completed the game sometime ago ^^ And I liked the battle system, it had more freedom of movement. On top of that I always found the Symphonia Character to be overpowered, I mean everyone's Mystic Arte just lets you win any match instantly. Use Lloyd's Divine Justice 4 times and you could kill the final boss =/

Oh, well there wasn't much fighting in the anime, it's hard to say what their skill level was.

I call it DotNW because Namco themselves said it wasn't a direct sequal, therefore it's not "Tales of Symphonia 2" (2 doesn't even appear in the title so...)

And i didn't think they were over-powered. They were slow and couldn't combo very well.

Emil's was really the only Mystic Arte that wasn't over-powered.

A few are from the opening of the game.

But most of them are from the OVA (an anime based on the game).

Most fans of the original game hated the OVA, including myself. If you ask me, the only thing the OVA was good for, was clips for AMV's.

I dont think the OVA was that bad, it was pretty cool seeing all your favourite Symphonia (or atleast some) in a anime, they way its really mean to be. I just wish they stuck to the actually plot, instead of coming up with a new way to change it, or alter it a bit. But the fact that Lloyd was the only one with the exsphere was a good idea, it was kinda annoying how ALL of the characters conviently got one.

Most Tales fans do consider it to be quite bad.

I don't care about seeing them in an anime, i prefer seeing them in DotNW where they're still actually the same character (the anime changed their personalities too much, aswell as slight changes to their designs) and they completely ruined the story.

And i believe all the characters did still have an exsphere in the anime, it just didn't show the scenes where they got them.

I do agree about Symphonia 2 though, they were still the same, though the did alter Lloyd quite a bit, he wasnt as funny as he was in the first game.

And I am sure that they didnt have one in the anime I mean Sheena, Zelos, Regal, Presea obviously have one, but Genis and Kratos are meant to have it on their hands but they dont. For some reason it look like Kratos' Exsphere was in the hilt of his sword =/

Yeah. I see what you mean there. They also used that bridge in between the two games, so now that the all the characters are 2 years older they could easily change their VA's, for the ones they needed.

And maybe it was a mistake, but, why is it that when Lloyd threw away his Exsphere (or gave it to Kratos) everyone started sucking. I mean, they with or even without a exsphere, they should be able to hold out themselves...

The Tales game on 360 is called Tales of Vesperia, in my opinion it doesn't look as good as the other Tales games but i'd still get a 360 for it if i had the money. Oh and Vesperia is already released in japan, we're getting it in North America late this year or early next year most likely.

To be honest, it seems quite interesting just how many times we have visited Aselia thus far.

First, there was the obvious first game Phantasia, which began the entire series, then we have the first Narikiri Dungeon and Summoner's Lineage to show us the future.

Years later, we get Symphonia to show us how the world was reestablished, and within the end of this year, Knights of Ratatosk will show us how it's progressed.

All we need now is Mithos's journey.... :p

Maybe they're taking a small break. You know like people do between seasons and stuff, although 4 episodes is very short for a season.

And i think the first episode is the only one out at the moment.

Yeah, the game was amazing and i think the OVA is going to turn out better than the other Tales OVA's
