This song is one big message of how the earths drinkable water supply is urgently depleting. Clearly being appropriately called "Clocks" as it's only a matter of time before there's nothing left. The songs lyrics can be simply interpreted into the overall theme-"Tides that I've tried to swim against" and "Come out upon my seas". Along with the backwards messages hidden near the end of the song- " Well I guess there's no more water... No...". Not to mention the magnificent blue lighting effects
