  • Wow! I now have a new hobby! Was offered some scrap silver yesterday (no. nothing dodgy!), so now need to source clay, wax, etc.

  • Thise is the best, simplest and well shown video on the hole of youtube where most people go on and on talking crap and showing there gadgets ect nice one dude.

    Thanks i just learned something today.

    i have seen this being done in sand an iron years ago. you can apply this simple proses easily at home make your own box whit wood and buy the clay from a jewelers supplier, the torch from a pluming shop and the bricks from an old electric storage heater will do that can be chiseled into a crucible

  • Borax helps to lubracate the crusible to make sure the metal dosnt stick to muc, and can help clean the metal a little

  • @nemobiz Everytime I melt silver it comes out black. Am I not putting enough borax in? How do you determine how much silver to use for a given piece? Thanks much and I really did enjoy your video. It explains so much more than others do. :)
