@mustachio235 No it doesn't. It just sounds like the Trex from Jurassic Park, which I think is one of the better Sci Fi films IMO. That's why I didn't think all the things from this movie were original. eg: Sound effects, Plot, etc... ...

Same Story as before... White Man's Greed leads to killing of Natives and stealing of the Native peoples' lands for Natural Resources because they dont want to share... hasnt changed... just the characters... Bush+Oil Corporation w/ Military power started all this mess that lead to 911...

the scorpion, and also there weapons are all weapons from the game halo.. im not sure if they knew that but it is correct. i went home after watching the movie and played halo and all of there weapons and the scorpion are the exact same.

WTF,sorry to hate on your guyz movie,but Avatard just didnt connect with me.The first 20 min was great with special effects.However once the shock of CGI wore off the story wasnt enough to carry 3 1/2 hours of a poorly written script. There is more to a Great movie then CGI and sound.Such a shame hollyweird has sold out great scripts and depth of characters to visual CGI shock.

That place was taken by Terminator 2 and Aliens many years ago, and both of them were directed by James Cameron. ;)

One thing that bothered me about the air ships were in the final battle at the end of the movie.

Why does those big air ship have the Marines places on top of the ship to shoot the Navis? Wont they be save inside? makes them sitting ducks

the big ship they are escorting is a transporter to transport equipment / people from the space station above, so they build something that could hold some people with guns to defend it,

there was no real point of having them on the inside, cuz wat could they really do? they would of been better on the outside, and i think there were on the outside becuz the new navi would be coming for them so they had them there to kill any navi that came for ths ship

The Na'Vi were really fascinating to watch. I identified Native American, African, and Celtic/Druidic elements meshed with modern Gaia hypothesis. It made me really hopeful to see a movie that used the indigenous traditions of so many peoples and of re-emerging knowledge about the earth to point out the limitations of our science and culture.

Can I ask you what you know of the symbolism behind braids? I've read that in some tribes they represent past/present/future, or child/parent/grandparent. I thought it was very interesting that the tendrils they use to connect to their environment was wrapped inside a braid.
