I know the writer says he left it up to interpretation, but honestly if you look at the game (and the original Dark Seed for that matter) as nothing but the story of a guy suffering from severe delusions, it makes a lot more sense. Or rather it's lack of sense makes sense. If everything, even the apparently normal world things, are his maddened delusions, the whole thing becomes not so much hilarious as very sad, he's just a crazy man no one likes who imagines himself the hero of his own story.

Gotta be honest, the whole concept of the Darkseed series isn't bad, it's just the execution of it. The fact the guy playing the game took forever talking to everyone after completing every puzzle made it seem ten times worse though. I still can't believe I actually made it through six fucking hours to get to this part before it got uploaded to youtube.
