  • Layers of love Thats my name for this seeing how you created this. I love it and loved watching you do it. I am also an artist. Was born one and have not been using my gifts lately money. All my tools and paints I had and even many of my great works have been lost. I must start from scratch. Doing the pictures is no problem I could do them all day and night. Its getting the materials. I miss it so much. I do have my pads and my pencils a few good oil pastels and some great drawing markers.

  • not bad, not bad at all.. you use a lot of layers... is that part of the technique for the translucent hues?

  • xostevo601,

Thanks for commenting! Yes. Absolutely. Our skin is translucent and a great way to mimic that is numerous thin layers of oil paint. Thanks for checking out my work!

  • i just stumbled across your vids

    & let me say this:

decent work; original way to draw/paint + i adore it.

i love the fact that you use several utensils and not just one.the texture of the skin looks brilliant - glowing + glaucous.

thanks for giving me the urge to continue to be artistic.

  • Very pretty! At several points in the video the canvas looked wetish. Did you brush on plain liquin, or something of that sort? I'm just starting painting and I am just kinda observing other art to see different methods of painting.

  • The Liquin was mixed with paint and I used color pencil as the ground rather than gesso. I dont know how permanent that is (gesso has stood the test of time) but I like that the color from the pencil mixes with the paint and it seems to be fine so far. Thanks for dropping me a line!
