ways to notice someone using dead ringer:

1. the spy stand/runs forth very rekless(almost as he whant to get shoot.)

2. the spy dies very fast by just one bullet or 2.( if he was low on health he wloud be more carefull)

3. you will hear a VERY obvius sound behind youwhen he tries to stab you!

I <3 the dead ringer. It's really a lot better than the Cloak and Dagger, unless there's an ammo shortage. You can get behind enemy lines and literally never die, if you know where the ammo is at.

PROTIP: If you cloak as someone on your own team, the dead ringer will make it look like someone from your own team died instead. meaning they won't suspect you of just being a dead ringer using spy, until they hear the sound. Time it to go with the rush of the rest of the team to make it more convincing.

Also to kill the cyber-demon shoot it until it dies.

exactly and if you're in a map like pipeline then just quickly find a hidden spot and quickly change disguise and you can easily pull off this trick also makes for really good getawayas if you can time it right. example if you get to the balconey in the 2nd leg of pipeline then you can go down behind their spawn stab dr and go up the tunnel passage to the balconey and do it again just go as a pyro or demo stab and pull out dr get shot and go back to balconey and repeat works like a charm

You should avoid getting shot while cloaked, no matter what watch you're using. Especially avoid flamethrowers and jarate, which causes visual effects that might as well be a giant neon sign attached blinking "SHOOT AT THIS, THIS IS A SPY"

It bothers me how clueless people are when they are playing against an opponent with a dead ringer. First off, it makes that loud ass noise and it just shows how noob the first scout you backstabbed was. Always look in the direction of the sound and spy check. Also don't be a poor spy and walk around full health with the dead ringer you have to trick them and if a bullet grazes you you die. Not often do spies go into battle with 1 hp. Use your brains people.

Well I never whined to Valve (TF2's been my favorite game up and until the pyro update), but then I questioned their balancing skills upon increasing the power of the regular and backburner flamethrowers (the crits are a seperate matter for BB). It seems now that with Pyro, if you removed the ability to burn after hitting them, you'd still be getting a lot of kills, since light classes die so easily with flames. But I still play the game and don't whine unless something incredibly BS happens.

Hell, I'd been getting achievements on idle servers just to pass time anyway. Logged on to a server today, backstabbed one guy, and got all 6 Sniper and Spy milestones, and all the unlocks with them!

Once people learn to listen for that uncloak noise this unlock will be substantially less useful sadly. Thankfully the vast majority of retards now playing TF2 courtesy of those stupid discount weekends (If you didn't buy this game when it first came out you're an idiot) seem really slow at grasping simple concepts like DECLOAKING NOISE = TIME TO TURN THE FUCK AROUND.

I hope valve also fixes the fact that occasionally the deaths with the dead ringer are a bit glitchy.
