I'm a doula...fairly accurate video, though I'd just also like to say that doulas aren't just for mothers with a partner not present or not active in the birth role as this video suggests...she can either help the father SUCCEED in his role as support person, or she can help him stay present - at his own comfort level. We can help dad stay calm, explain what is happening, and show him what to do to help. After the birth, I get the most positive feedback from the fathers!

I am studying to be a doula, and eventually a midwife, this video is appalling in it's misrepresentation of the birth process through the idealistic/unrealistic imagery.

I'm unsure what you think is misrepresented here. I have been a doula for six years and believe that everything she said is accurate. Sure, she was a bit rigid, but that's probably because she hasn't been in many videos like this.
